Subsitute "girls" for "gays" or "blacks" and does it still read as just banter? It is puerile.

There is one of these at Westover Rover in Christchurch. In the flesh it looks mint.

I would.

Isn't "is it a girl's car" a bit of a puerile question, or am I just showing my age? Get a grip PH.
No, it's a good excuse for a bit of light hearted banter.

I'm not intending to offend anyone. But on the other hand Mrs AC43 would agree with me. She loves Evoques and thought it amusing that the first couple we came across driving one was a gay couple in Maida Vale. The whole Victoria Beckham/Vogue marketing push is evidently working well.

Nothing wrong with that.

Will you lot get over the Beckham thing... she decorated one car (which looked utter crap). She had NOTHING to do with the adaptive suspension!

I like the look of it, very striking but I would not consider buying one for myself, it is a girls car (or a yummy Mummy's car)- In fact just like a Freelander

Are people confusing being gay with being camp perhaps?

It could prove to be a good seller to Securicor for prison vans because they have very limited windows to keep criminals hidden. Could keep chavs hidden instead.
It's nearly as ugly as the Rodios from SsangYong!

Some odd comments on this vehicle, like its not big enough, not everybody wants to drive a HGV when something easier to drive about town or down small country lanes is a far better prospect to squeeze though gaps, and park.Hate the colours shown white or black best.Good to buy SORT OF BRITISH,HA,HA.

But why get past the Beckham thing? It's at the core of the question. It generated thousands of column inches in the motoring press, national press and women's press which has had a direct correlation to the sorts of people I see driving them round London, Namely yummy mummies, bankers' wives and wealthy gay 40 somethings. There's nothing wrong with that - but it's a fact.

When I watch an ad on TV, I pay no attention to the 'celeb' that fronts it. I'm only interested (if at all) in the product... not the stupid hype. Ms Beckham had ZERO influence on my decision to buy one for my wife. The test drive did that.

Yes and because I'm not in those segments, I'm oot.

Holland & Holland or Overfinch RRs would hook me though.

Not really. The guys I bumped into weren't particularly camp. But deffo gay. Not sure what that has to do with it, really.

But that demographic often have plenty of disposable and like nice things - stylish flats, expensive eateries and nice cars. Why not?
