if you really had to surely stick to a european version.

Completely different vehicles, not sure they even share any common parts. The S10 Blazer is built on the S10 pickup platform. The Frontera is a badge engineered (ok rebadged ) Isuzu Wizard.http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...

Honestly curious, but how is the likes of the Blazer not PH worthy?
Lets look at this point by point:
V6 engine - so something above the norm in the UK since 95% of all vehicles seem to have a 4 pot motor
4.3 litres - again a rarity in the UK to have something of this displacement
190hp - in the UK most 'normal' cars fail to attain this level of HP. To date only the Focus ST or RS have made more in the Focus line up
Performance - well despite being a 4x4 it seems to pretty much match a Golf GTI 0-60mph, if the Golf is quick enough for PH, then surely the Blazer is.
Rarity - offers a little uniqueness to the blandness of 'normal' UK cars.
RWD - yay!
Oh and you can go and doing a very motoring thing like this, something most Brits think only a Land Rover can do....
Chill Winston. I was merely commenting that I sent Garlick a link to the most PH of all PH cars for Shed nomination this week - a £650 Alfa GTV 3.0 V6 with 88k on the clock, in red with tan leather.Lets look at this point by point:

Nobody, not even you 300bhp/tonne, can say that that GTV doesn't out-PH the Blazer.
As it happens, I'm actually a fan of this Blazer as SOTW, they're quite a lot of fun especially for shed money.

You can't say you didn't have a far more PH car as an option! Beefmeister said:

lol, but how was I to know you'd sent Paul a link to a GTV?Nobody, not even you 300bhp/tonne, can say that that GTV doesn't out-PH the Blazer.

GTV is very cool IMO
Had a red long wheelbase '94 S10 4.3l in Canada in 05 when I used to live there. In the US/Canada these are ok as they are cheap to fix (because many things break or wear, particularly steering and suspension), cheapish to fuel up (because the 4.3l likes a drink) and ok as driving proposition because the roads are flat and straight. It was also pretty good in the snow. The 4.3l is far too fast for the rubbish brakes and steering though and there is no way I would have one here. The S10's have a fairly fanatical following. Second Gen have the same engine but are perceived to be not as good and a bit ghetto.
My favourite memory is the day after busting through snow drifts in the middle of an Alberta forest, opening up the hood and seeing the alternator eat itself to bits because of a seized pulley bearing. The little flakes of metal being thrown out into the air looked really pretty and poetic in the early morning sunlight. The local Ford dealer fixed it for me in four hours for $150 and apologised for the delay. Happy days.

I'll stick to my 96 Toyo 3rd Gen Surf. It's way cooler than this and does 27mpg (3.0 Diesel) on a run.
I don't see the allure, even for under a 'bag o sand', and it's fugly as sin.
There's no way it does 20mpg, and it must easy weigh a couple of tons.
Perhaps if it was diesel it might have some merit as purely a workhorse for towing and shifting stuff about without worrying about it getting dented, and be worth a punt if everything else was guaranteed in working order but it's no looker to be seen in. Where's the cool??
Roll on next SOTW!!

Epic fail!
Why have a yank tank with anything other than a V8?
Are you really that stupid? Why have a yank tank with anything other than a V8?
No not at all. Not much in it between a V6 and V8 power/performance wise but i was referring to NOISE.

The yanks amaze the world by getting relatively little power from high capacities and the V6's are the cream of the crop for underachieving.
Yet managing more than the Rover V8 in a Landy... Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit I know but thought I would return the favour

Not sure if your aware of this but the Rover lump was designed by Buick...an American company, and yes its not the best performance per CC, but sounds lovely.

Yes I'm quite aware of the Buick 215 thanks. V6's can sound good too BTW. And a stock RV8 on stock exhausts really doesn't sound much at all tbh.Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit I know but thought I would return the favour
Also this is a 4x4, low rpm torque is arguably far more useful than high revving low displacement engines making the same power.
