Toyota Corolla Twincam-16 - the hype far outweighed the experience.
O/T, but a mate had an 85/86 C reg version and it was a bit of a revelation at the time (1988, and it was to me anyway). That beautifully balanced 1.6 16v twin cam being worked hard. cloud9

Not massively quick, but characterful.

Indeed, just for the button on the bottom of the seat

I fancy buying one for the sheer hell of it.
Electric recline in the back too on the Scorpio. Most comfortable seats ever.

I had a thing for saloons, I remember a Ford Orion being at the top of my "first car" list and I even went to see one, it didn't start and the front passenger door was rusty at the bottom, I bought an Escort in the end, we are talking 86 vintage.

A few years down the line I still had a saloon fetish and had a soft spot for the Mk1 Seat Cordoba, I haven't seen one for years, anyone remember the SX, the 2 door saloon version?

I've had a dozen so far and I don't feel greedy - they aren't boring

biggrin

When I bought my 7er it was mainly for the seats. Electric seats are, inexplicably, the most luxurious thing in the world to me. All they do is add weight, break and never get used as mostly it's me that drives my car but, still...

I haven't been counting, but it seems the Ford Orion might be the most desired boring car!?

Are you lot all joyriders from the 80s?

When I was 11yrs old I loved the vauxhall Calibra because my school headmaster drove one and it was the most interesting car in the car park!

A very very classy car that. Pre-facelift 1.6i Ghia only though for me. The Cavalier CD with the detachable handbags on the doors was also on the want-list, as was a Solara SX with the 'Ordinateur de Bord' computer. What a sad bd.
