Grumbling/whirring noise - any ideas?

It was going to the garage later that week for upgraded console bushes anyway... thank god I'd sorted it without the embarrassment of asking the garage to diagnose what was only a vegetation-related noise.

As you left they would have laughed their asses off, removed it, regained composure and on your return billed you striaght in the nuts for wheel bearings.
