These try ons are often exemplified by minimalist decsriptions and awful and minimal hoots. The vendors are hoping to catch a passing punter and the less said the better. Worth nothing more than scrap value IMO. If that.

Very unlikely to sell. The few buyers for ths type of abortion generally do not have the funds. It will be back on the Bay or Gumtree shortly. Avoid!

Chargecooler not plumbed into water - so either the seller is an idiot or it was an early photo.

Indeed the DVLA information suggests this is a simple and straightforward process. It isn't in reality and registering four of five kit cars and modified cars a year has repeatedly confirmed the reality to me at some cost. Cars like the one detailed on here would be a real challenge IMO based on my experience of the actual process.
What problems have you had with registering a simple engine swap with the DVLA?

Most likely an idiot hehe

On a similar note I remember a young lad, who had a Mk1 Focus RS, asking on one of the Ford forums why his engine had expired. When asked whether the chargecooler system was working properly, he replied that it wasn't and hadn't for at least the last 3 months rolleyes But he was certain that wasn't the cause of the problem because "without water it would just act like an air to air intercooler setup" banghead

85BHP the 1.2 is apparently,

anyway advert says...

"AND ITS BEEN DONE TO A HIGH STANDARD"

going by the air filter and the dash cowling i'd dispute that.

I know, mine was a riot and upset a lot of expensive stuff to about a hundred-ish but for the sake of a stamp it's scrap. frown

That is the fundamental difficulty. Could a purchaser readily obtain registration? Very probably not or the seller would have done it. Equally the question of whether you want to enter financial transactions with a seller who clearly is prepared to condone unlawful use on the highway in its illegal form. Not for me personally I would avoid such unregistered cars. The game has changed, for the better, latterly. Getting cars registered with no provenance or adequate history is by no means an easy task currently.

No doubt that car will continue the rounds on the net. It is IMO best avoided. For all the reasons states previously. I doubt it will sell.

Strangely the whole declaring thing also works in reverse

I recall a few years back on rovertech, guy put a 2.0 T series turbo in a series land rover in place of the 2.5 diesel engine. Declared it to DVLA no problems, then called his insurance company who reduced his premium as he'd redoced the size of his engine.

double the power and reduce premiums...oh well!

The same thing happened with a mates Celica GT4 powered Rav4. It was like a Paris Dakar car but cost less to insure than a standard one.

Fantastic in theory but "The car is registered as a 1600cc so cheap tax and insurance but it goes like a rocket ship"
