From my other thread...
I have some vary vague recollections of this being a glass fibre body kit car from many years ago. However if this car is not registered as a TXTripper then actually getting it on the road and MOT'd would seem a big challenge to me. Personally I would avoid the car. Am I missing something? The frm shown is nothing like the cari remember vaguely. But others may take a different view. RochdaleGT said:

Still an 1174cc (Triumph Herald) engine on the log book. locost with tx tripper v5c
tripper was a triumph based beach buggy...
...but that is a 13/60 based TX Tripper. I quite like it in an oddball 70's kind of way.

Regrettably of little value IMO. Without an SVA (which cannot now apply) and still registered as an Escort I think this is completely beyond economic registration. It patently is not a Escort. Load of trouble and I would avoid totally. As to the seller wanting £4500 pipe dreams IMO. It is an unregistered kit car it is therefore cannot be a Westfied. Unfinished kit cars are not worth a lot currently when actually registering them becomes almost impossible which with this kit is the case. Pity it coud have been nice car if finished. Not as tt is.Thanks to RochdaleGT for this one as well. Registered as a MkII Escort with SVA fail sheet from 2004 included. :rollyes:

Metallic grey rear engine'd 2.2 V-tec 106 with nasty chav Dimma-esque kit.
On second thoughts if the paperwork for the engine is in order I'd offer the £600 scrap it's worth and if it's the JDM 2.2 (looks like a bogo 170 Prelude lump in the pictures) stick that in my X1/9 hillclimb project.

Apart from the 300bhp bullcrap I'd avoid this more than any French car that's been off the road for more than a week. Date of first registration 28 April 1998

According to the DVLA Database this is a yellow 1.6 106 not a grey 2.2
Does the car come with the appropriate documentation to make it road legal? As it was built in 2010-2011 (last Taxed in September 2011 and M.O.T expired October 2012) it should have an SVA/IVA certificate. Does it come with supporting proof of purchase of the donor parts including receipts, original donor vehicle log book with the correct engine numbers or JDM import certificate?
Do you have any dynographic evidence of the alleged 300bhp power output? The engine in the photo's looks like a UK Prelude 2.2 V-Tec that were limited to 180bhp for this market. Advertising the car as having 300bhp could be a misrepresentation.

"STILL REGISTERED AS A 1.8, CHEAP TO INSURE"
And unlawful to use on the road. Best avoided as ever the registration process for such unrecorded efforts now effectively means that the car has no real value. Which is why it is advertised as it is. "STILL REGISTERED AS A 1.8, CHEAP TO INSURE"

This Vauxhall Corsa was seized by the Op Dragoon team at a meet at the Team Valley on Sunday night.
It is registered and insured as a standard 1.4litre vehicle, however, after being examined by police it was found to have been fitted with a turbo charged 2.0 litre engine.
It also had undisclosed modifications on it including a straight through wide bore sports exhaust system, a sports air induction system, modified and lowered suspension and after market alloy wheels.
The car was seized having undisclosed performance modifications on his car and the driver has been reported for road traffic and fraud offences and will be summonsed to court in due course.
Chief Inspector John Heckels said: "If you don't disclose modifications to your insurance then it isn't valid. That means you are on the roads without insurance and that is an offence.
"The Op Dragoon team are working with modified car enthusiasts in our area and we have no problem with groups of friends gathering in their cars. People have a right to do this and as long as it doesn't lead to disorder, anti social behaviour or reckless driving then we will try to support and facilitate this where we can.
"We do not want to go down the route of wholesale banning of car cruises. This just punishes everyone, including the safe and responsible majority of drivers that cause no problems.
"We understand that people have a passion for cars and driving but we have to deal with the consequences of dangerous driving.
"There is a minority who seem to think that they can do what they want on the roads and that the law does not apply to them. These are the people that the Op Dragoon team are targeting.
"Keep it safe, keep it legal and behave responsibly behind the wheel and you will not have to worry about us."

Apart from being a parts bin swap and shouldn't require any engineers report to change the log book legitimately why pay £2,500 for a faffed about Focus when you can get a genuine ST170 for half the price? That own clearly put the Berk in head.
