Looks like someone was too tight/thick/impatient to get an actual GTI to ring.

I always thought cars like this got passed around mates or mates of mates for peanuts considering you're not getting it back once you've been pulled by the Police and will likely be spending a night in a cell for handling stolen goods.

9.5k (and advertising it on the Country's most active market place) is nuts.
