I met a couple at the ring with a 300km 993 GT2. Owned from new, there weekend car and most of the miles done on the green hell. Nice
That's something like 18,000 laps, isn't it? - over 400,000 Euros at today's prices.Seems a little unlikely to me.
I think some of the miles may have been done on the road to, just that there main hobbie was a day out at their local 14 mile race track

The plan was to have the photo taken at 100mph. Alas an overly crowded M4 put paid to that.

All modern(ish) reciprocating engines will easily cover 100k miles, these days, with the use of decent oil and regular changes...
My 1996 E36 328i has done 204,000 miles and is still going strong.
My 1987 E30 M3 has done over 115,000 miles although it had a full engine rebuild around 20,000 miles ago.
My partners' 2000 Nissan Almera Tino 1.8 is the only car we have with less than 100K on it...currently at 80k miles

Superb. Though I'd honestly say your thermostat is not I the freshest condition looking at the temp gauge. I'd say it doesn't close fully.
The amount of times they open and close in 100k miles is mind boggling and they wear out. Worth changing its easy on your car too
Coming up to 96,000 miles on my 2004 Octavia vRS. Needs some of the suspension bushes replaced but apart from that still drives like it was new, if not in fact faster now that it's run in!
Works Transit minibus hit the 200,00 mile mark on Monday. 57 plate. Needed a new engine at 180,000, but only because a 'tard didn't realise that engines don't run too well when there's no oil in them!

147k on our "unreliable" Peugeot and still on original clutch/gearbox as well. Sent one to the scrappy due to major suspension issues with 230k on the original engine, turbo and gearbox and 150k odd of those were covered by the missus and not "easy" miles.
No ECU to stop working in the event of an EMP blast which is nice.

My Focus is on just over 99,700. Set off on a big trip the other day only for it to die and have to get recovered by the AA within 10 miles. Maybe there is some truth to the 100k thing when it comes to old Fords...
Fortunately I repaired it for £15 (ignition coil) so need to plan another road trip to hit 100k.
