The Apollo was "no beauty" according to some, this article included, but I think it looks incredible.
It does look incredible, incredibly ugly that is, lol

Everyone goes on about it not looking pretty but I think (especially in black) it just looks evil, and to me quite nice.

they make very well engineered cars that do what they're designed to.

All I remember of the Gumpert is that it broke the Top Gear track record and then it was disqualified because it's not a road car????

Ok they "prooved" the Koenigsegg is trash and the Zonda no good but when the Apollo looked perfect they had to say it's not a road car and disqualified it? Talking of fair journalism... This made me like this car even more.

I also like the looks, not my favourite but at least its completely different than anything else.

The first time I came across the Apollo was at Monterey Concourse week a few years back. I thought it was the most stunning and intense machine that I had ever seen and I still do. I recall them needing some handling improvements when they first hit the market but much of that has been improved. Like a far more sophisticated Utima that arrives complete from the factory, it really is a very powerful track car that happens to be street legal. In that regard, it may not be for someone shopping on Rodeo Drive but for a true car lover, it is magnificent. Very high on my 'wish list' for the future - along with one of Horatio's wonders.
So I really hope they figure a way out of their financial mess. They have to be around, and still making the Apollo when I hit the California lottery. That other car shown? Now THAT is uggers.

Wasn't it the Caparo that was disqualified, not the Gumpert?

I know its the guys surname, but losing the "Gumpert" name would help.. It may seem petty but I don't think any level of engineering can overcome that clunky handle...

This.
I'm amazed very few people seem to see it as an issue.
