The HSC Concept probably was the best evolution of the NSX, shame Honda never put it into production. This new "NSX" - if we can even call it that looks a bit weird, similar to many of Honda's new cars with the new generation styling.

They invented the magic roundabout didn't they?... um perhaps you're right.. wink

On another note, oh joy, more pistonheads group masturbation over the most overated car of the last 20 years. It's got a V6!! Yay!! PMSL. Drove the original and hated it, the Camaro I had at the time was faster and had better brakes!

Currently, I'm with you lot... but I have a history of being wrong and changing my mind after a year or two.

Currently it's st. Two years into production I may like it. Maybe.

That, whilst being a smidge different from the 'norm', is no looker.
The current concept, whilst a looker is too formulaic...
In summary, I'm confused and Honda must try harder.

If they want the car have identity they should not alter the look so much. This is the reason why the older concept looks better; we can all see it is new but still clearly NSX. The new one could be called anything. I would be great NSX could be the Japanese version of 911 or Corvette.

Dear Honda,

Having gone from making exciting, groundbreaking performance/sports/super cars unfortunately you have rested upon you laruels for too long. Let's not even mention build quality and rust issues!

You let the S2000 slip away into obscurity without any redevelopment. Your neglect of the NSX criminal. The civic type R has been dumbed down over the years and the mugen upgrades are hideously over priced.

Please let sleeping dogs lie and use your development/R+D money on family hybrids and small cars which is clearly where your main customer base now lies.

If at some point you decide to become interesting and spend some money on a proper performance/drivers car that will be vaugely affordable Vs its rivals then please let us know.....until then, don't bother and let us enjoy some of your better cars which are fast becoming classics.

Yours Truely

So the new NSX and all new Civic Type R due out at about the same time isn't enough? Or the Mugen supercharged CRZ that's going on sale next year?

Do you not think the gap maybe a little long and that other manufacturers have jumped in that void?? I do. IMHO the last Civic Type R was not great anyhow so that's quite a long gap between cars. In addition can you honestly say that a supercharged CRZ fills you with excitement for the price you will probably pay??

I have no doubt that Honda will deliver a decent car out of the 3 but, and to reiterate, it's been far too long and others will be producing better cars for the money by that time.

Talking more about the tech - I'm guessing the electric motors will power the front wheels to give a little extra traction when necessary but also assist with regen braking, with the V6 powering the rear.

And high revs available prefereably north of 10K...

Concept = Great
Production = Another bland supercar. Where's the relationship to an NSX? Styling / Innovation. It's just another supercar!

If the web is correct price in Japan at todays exchange rate, £35k! Based on recent discussions with how much the 86 is in Japan compared to here and GTR, what do you think that £35k will end up being over here, over £40k?

Having owned Honda's for the last 25 years, I've had only one British built Honda and I wouldn't buy another.
The monkey's in Swindon that assemble Civic's and Jazz's cannot be trusted to build a supercar.
As one of said "monkey's" I would be interested in more specifics rather than childish insulting generalizations.

Thanks smile

This is beautiful. Never did like the rear end of the original tbh - this is spot on.
