A new cossie that's not even an RS?

I agree with above aswell, if its doesn't have revo knuckle and a good ATB it'll be interesting to say the least.

I do like the cosworth intercooler though.

This was a Ford in 1971 the GT70 - started life as a project devised by Roger Clark and Stuart Turner for rallying with a view to putting it in to production the Ghia styling house did a fully trimmed road version.
Started with a mid mounted Cologne 2.9 V6 just as they put a BDG in it , sorted the handling , senior management cancelled it in a round of company cuts.
Used to have a Corgi toy of that as a kid, just like this one:

Pity it never got properly rallied, it could have been a British Stratos.

Isn't Ford an American company?

Yeah, but the car he was referring to (GT70) was engineered and being built in Britain.

Dear me that is ugly. As much as I appreciate the engine work, this doesn't exactly have the charm of the Cosworths of old.

GREAT COSSIE..... NOT

pile of yellow dung!

330 bhp.. wow thats amazing.. the same as what i had in an ST 5 years ago and still less than the mild upgrade you can get for the current RS model.

A message for the Ford marketing team. Grow some real bks and stop getting RS fans excited for no good reason..

This article should be titled "NOTHING TO SEE HERE-MOVE ALONG"

These STs look immeasurably better in the metal than they do on the Internet. Saw one last week, albeit a standard one and it looked amazing!
Not sure on the new orange... the last shade on the MK II was perfect! The blue looks absolutely lovely though and even better in estate guise. I think the darker colours are gonna be the best for this car. Even in the flesh some parts still look a bit awkward and ungainly and the dark colours mask these somewhat.

Still I saw a white one that was filthy as heck and it looked great.

After all that engine work you'd of thought they would of shut the bonnet before taking the photos!

Not nice, shame, another fast ford in FWD guise... when will they learn?

I maybe wrong but should the debate not be about possible future tie-ups and collaboration between Ford and Cosworth, and not the merits of a 1-off Focus?

Isn't the gap deliberate? Something to do with pedestrian safety?

The focus has got to big and heavy. They should put that engine in the fiesta with 4wd or some revo knuckle type system if they need to keep it at a sensible price & make it an RS.

Is it four wheel drive though?

Don't like it being five-door.

If it was a three-door I would buy it.

The photo of the Escort Cosworth looks like it was taken on the Cat & Fiddle road in the Peak District - a regular drive of mine not far from home, slightly spoiled by the SPECS speed flow cameras.

Apparently drivers and riders seem to enjoy it somewhat.......sadly a little too enthusiastically at times hence the cameras >>>>>>

Not sure this can be compared to the EsCos in anything other than the name.

Not very nice, they look like Kahns on there too?! http://www.kahndesign.com/wheels/wheels_detail.php...

Not the direction I would expect a fast ford to take!
Was thinking that as well, the white RS in the pictures on that link was up for sale by Kahn earlier this year, IIRC the advert stated that the car was under construction by Cosworth to develop 400 bhp though I'm not sure what became of it

I believe the 'Duratec' in the ST170 was actually a Zetec 2.0 with a vvt modified head on it and the true Duratec's are re-badged Mazda MZR engines.

Still rather have my MPS or a mk2 RS than this.
