Thank you, was only taken a few weeks ago...told you I pamper it smile

Thanks for all the comments, it's been great to read through them all. I'll try and take the MX to a few PHSS meets so you can see decent it looks for the cash paid

Oh, and stop telling me how much I'll miss the LS. I know, because I am!

Really brave of you to come out like this garlick wink

Was worried for a moment that you were leaving PH to become a hairdresser but thankfully you kept the TVR!

Best of luck and i hope it serves you well...

I can't help but think you will regret getting rid of the Lexus!

Come on now, I've already asked people to stop rubbing it in.

Please...

Rub rub rub rub....

The beauty with either car is though, plenty of 'em about so getting another wouldn't be much of an issue.

Blimey thats a surprise, a LS to a mazda mx5, chalk and cheese!!

I am sure you will enjoy the mx5 and there is a huge social side of MX5 ownership (it's not for me) but I know of several people who do the shows, sell the spares etc.

I had similar sill issues on my '93 MR2. Are you sure that the internal structure of the sill is ok and you haven't simply put a cover plate over a load of rust?

I am sure you have had the job done properly but my repair (including some work to the strengthening plates within the sill and new cover plate) cost £600 for one side only.....

Consider spraying some Bilt-Hamber Dynox S50 corrosion inhibitor inside the sills!

Looks a tidy '5 for that money though!

Yeah it's pretty strong, I had a look and they have dealt with all the problem areas for me. I did get a great deal for over a week of work in the shop.

Definitely need to use the Dynox stuff you mention though.

Really? I like the heat provided on a cold roof down drive, I'm certainly noticing the lack of it.

Each to their own through, but I prefer mine hot when I want it to be.

Blimey, reading the start of the article I also thought you were going to say you'd got rid of the TVR.

I also have a Chimaera/MX5 combination, the Mazda makes an excellent day to day car and just thinking about driving the TVR always brings a smile.

Don't worry about the perceived wisdom (or lack of it) in having two two-seaters. The Mazda regularly makes trips to the tip and the log-man and I rarely have to worry about getting up at silly o'clock to do an airport run.

Trouble is, I now can't sell either of them. I'm very attached to the MX5 as I've had it for thirteen years from new and I positively adore the TVR. So the only way I'm going to get to drive something else is if I buy a third car!

You can't be driving it hard enough, mine used to melt my feet after 5 miles

or perhaps yours still has effective insulation under the bonnet - remove it - you won't need the heater then !
