Like it, would happily have one but £1000+ per month to lease!!!!

I'd choose an A6 bi-turbo TDI Avant with a tow bar

Sorry but your comment is utterly groundless and stupid IMO.

The fact that the car is a f*cking ugly, fat, slow, over-priced, heavy old barge probably has more to do with it I would hypothesise...

Love them love them love them. Even like how they look.

Was hooning around the Contirom dry handling track in a GTS version yesterday. Unbelievable for its size.

They appeal more to me when covered in a thousand miles of autumnal grime, but not sure if that's an attribute to the design.
And also the reduced number of daylight hours at this time of year aids the styling.

It's just opinion, people have differing views and neither is wrong.

Some like it, some don't but why it always ends in a slanging match I have no idea.

Easily the ugliest car from any premium car maker ever conceived. That's a game stopper right there.

Well, as I've stated before I'm a big fan of the Panamera, but it probably helps that I've driven all the variations rather than forming an opinion based on someone elses personal experience. Each to their own......

"and went outside the next morning to have a gander before phoning the wheel refurb people"

Really? a wash and hoover out of someone elses car might have been a good starting point?

A strange car indeed....
When I see one, I laugh and point at it.
The next time I see one, I nod approvingly in the way of a sad old sage.

Ad nauseum.
lol, this is my thought process too!

A bit more respect for the car after the CH review though.

A friend of mine traded in his 911 turbo for a panamera s and loves it. The boot is absolutely massive and it still shifts at a fair old lick but can take the wife and kid in comfort without any hassle. I think they look great in the flesh, his is black and fairly understated (in london at least). Not sure I'd part with 90k for one but then I don't have that kind of cash in the first place!

''But for me it is the penultimate 90-right exiting the short stay car park at Heathrow Terminal One.''

with you on that - kerbed the offside front alloy on the Merc only the other week there, bloody annoying.

Firstly, can you afford one? If not, then at least part of my opinion has been proven. As for being 'utterly groundless', take a look at the myriad of internet forums where supercar virgins offer strong opinions on vehicles they will most probably never even sit in, never mind drive or own.

As for the remainder of your hypothesis, I would challenge your description of the vehicle in question as you have not made a direct comparison between the other vehicles available to a prospective customer, ergo it cannot be a valid argument.

Agree, Garlick. I've no idea why PH'ers can't just exchange opinions in a civilized manner confused

Me.. I like it and have since day one. When viewed as a complete package, it's hard not to be impressed by what Porsche have achieved with the Panamera, regardless of styling.

It's also good to see Porsche expanding into other sectors to broaden the appeal and keep the coffers topped up. Afterall, the more mass-market (Panamera / Cayenne) cars they shift, the more money and investment there should be (in theory) for the drivers cars that we all want to see on sale.

I put on a forum a few years ago that I didn't like the Aston DB9; I felt it was overpriced for the interior finishings etc and just didn't float my boat. I based my opinion on my ownership experience, whereas those who most vociferously informed me of my tastelessness and stupidity had never even sat in one. I express opinions that are my own, which means they are probably fundamentally flawed, as it states on my twitter bio.

The other side of that argument is that if everyone bought a Panamera then Porsche might suddenly think that the driver's cars were no longer worth the effort or profit.

But, in its sector the Panamera is a drivers car. It's a drivers car for someone who has kids they need to transport.

They seem quite popular in NYC, but then again so does the R Class.
