He makes some fair points, street racing isn't exactly new. Young lads have been modifying and racing cars since they were invented, its human nature.
IMO the current facilities provided for anybody who wants to go fast are woeful at best. How do you expect an apprentice joiner to justify 20% of his monthly wage being spunked on a track day (without taking into account running costs and fuel) when he can hit the local industrial estate for free.

There's that sense of entitlement again, if you can't afford a track day then tough ****.

Pissed up wkers on town are subsidised by the government through NHS and Policing. Can you name one way in which car drivers are subsidised in the UK? As far as I can see, we're a cash cow.
I do realise this isn't going to go well for me as I'm going against the grain here...
A full days worth of runs at any of the drag strips in the UK costs >£50 (Santa Pod and York certainly – not sure about Avon Park’s prices). RWYB is the only way to "race" unless you get a competition licence and partake in a licensed event because you can compare time slips with your mates, that way Jonno can prove his SRI VTEC Turbo GTR thing is faster than Trev's Astra. As far as I know racing is not permitted on circuit type track days because it is not a motorsport event. That said I bet a great majority of these "racers" cars wouldn't pass the MSA scruteneering process anyway.IMO the current facilities provided for anybody who wants to go fast are woeful at best. What are you suggesting that the councils pay for several days per year to fund these scrotes a track day so they can race and look big and clever in front of their mates and dubiously aged girls. Bs, if they want to race they should do it properly like the rest of us that possess a brain do.

On a simmilar note, how does anyone expect the same joiner to afford to get smashed of his face on coke and have a variety of high class hookers every night? The injustice is beyond words IMO the current facilities provided for anybody who wants to go fast are woeful at best. But he can't hit the local industrial estate for free, though, can he? He thinks he can, and then he gets all bhy about the consequences when he finds out the hard way.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
