I'm trying to get rid of my car, and posting it in the classifieds on here and in Autotrader hasn't helped.
Wewantanycar.com have offered significantly more than their similarly named competitor, and have mostly good reports on Reviewcentre, but I thought it might be worth checking on here for any experiences, good or bad. Slightly concerned by the idea of leaving the car with them and getting a bank transfer the next day for the funds.

TC Never used them I'm afraid, but I did get a valuation from their similarly named competitor last week. They valued my Golf at £7,500. I traded it on Saturday for £9,600. I would need to be pretty desparate for the cash before I'd use them.

I very nearly sold my car to them this week, after similarly getting a very good quote online. Having spoke to the guy on the phone a couple of times though I backed out. He was essentially saying the quote on the website was b ks. They quote top end of CAP guides to suck you in (regardless of what condition you say your car is), then they'll knock you down for every little thing. Just read some reviews and you'll get the gist of it. They're no better than the similar company who are all over TV. I also fail to understand any sensible reason why they can't pay you immediately. I was told I'd have to wait 4 working days before I recieved my payment. I was not happy about leaving my car with a company and having to wait that long for funds to appear. There are other companies out there who will do a better deal, not charge you admin fees, pay immediately and are generally run alot better.

I have used them for my last car. Didn't knock me far down from my original valuation (was my fault they did due to over estimating the MOT left). They guy had a quick test drive round the block and basically told me the on-line quote is there just to see how honest people are about the condition of their cars.
The 4 day wait for the money was a bit unnerving though I must admit. I think all these outfits are basically the same. You have to go in with a realistic view and if you don't like the quote they offer, you can simply refuse and try elsewhere.

Hi,
When valuing your car, wewantanycar.com use CAP data and the information you provide. The CAP price range falls into 4 categories: Retail, Clean, Average and Below Average.
Based on the information you provide about the condition of the vehicle, service history, tax and MOT dates etc, accurate info means an accurate quote. In some cases (cars in exceptional condition) are actually bought for above the max stated CAP value.
I've done a few cars with these guys, purely because it's quick and easy and I live very close to one of their branches. I also get bored of cars really quickly lol. In my experience, if you're completely honest about the car, you don't get disappointed - and they do always offer a better price than the competition.

I've had a valuation off them for my Audi which seems ok. I'll be popping over later so I'll feed back the outcome.

Why do people have to come on to these forums and lie? I wouldn't have a problem if he just explained how it works. Anyway, Reported.

You'd think that being a marketing manager Jim would have more sense than to make it so easy to find him. Also, if he'd come in with the notion "Hi I work for WWAC and can answer any questions blahblahblah" then he may have even gained some more credibility for his organisation. I know a buddy of mine will read this at some point so, with my tongue firmly in my cheek, these marketing types, eh?
