Really YJ I'm not that bothered, I love cars and I love this place but every time I read one of JS's foul diatribes I get more aggravated. He's been doing it for years and no one ever calls him on it.
I would love him to get in my face and make me eat my words, at least he'd gain some respectability in my book, but really I think he's just a little man with a big computer.

I'll agree that there are a few on PH forums who wouldn't be missed if they went elsewhere, but I hadn't rated the one of whom you speak as one of the worst. Maybe I don't spend enough time on the same threads as the two of you, or maybe my threshold for letting such silliness wash over me is higher than yours.

Either way, I reserve the right to enjoy my if the st really does hit the fan wink

Oh christ yeah, I'm sure there are many who wouldn't miss me!

I don't have much free time for internet stuff these days and PH is pretty much it. I don't hold with all that "It used to be much better back in the day" stuff, I think this is a very decent place to be most of the time.

Look I don't know the bloke, he may be the nicest man on earth in real life but just scroll back 20 pages on this thread and you'll find him making appalling presumptions that wouldn't be accepted anywhere else. Replace "Essex" with any other label in his posts and he would have been banned years ago. I'm not even a true Essex man, I'm an East Ender originally (now there is some fertile ground!) but I have just lost patience with his vile, unfounded pronouncements.

Probably not worth my blood pressure to be honest.

I think there's a lot more to that car than meets the eye. Would love to know its running gear.

Whereabouts in Essex are you? I only ask because I served my last 7 years in the Army near Saffron Walden. I knew the area around Great Dunmow and Braintree quite well, and used to cycle as far south as North Weald. Prior to my posting there, the only 'Essex' I knew was from 'Birds of a Feather' and other TV stereotypes. The difference between what I thought I knew, and the reality of the 'posh' North Essex bit was night and day. It's not a place entirely devoid of 'Gangsters' in RangeRovers and 'orange slappers' in Audis, as there's no smoke without fire, but on the whole I thought it was a lovely place to live and work. Except for Heybridge/Maldon (not a fan of long cup tie away trips to places with unpleasant fans only to lose the match, but I'll save that for the non-league football thread wink ).

Ahh well I am South Essex mate, Wickford, and yes there are Orange people and lots of Range Rover drivers here, very Birds of a Feather! Doesn't make them drug dealers though.

Saffron Walden is a lovely part of the world, got a bloody parking ticket there last time I went because the car wouldn't fit in the space! The fine was so small it didn't matter anyway, I think you can park in Saffron Walden for a whole day for the same cost as 15 minutes in Chelsea!

I love Heybridge, before my knees gave out I used to mountain bike from Papermill Lock to Heybridge on a Sunday morning, getting there just in time for the pub to start serving breakfast, happy days!

Some lovely places on the North Essex - Suffolk border. My accountant is in Haverhill, always enjoy the trip out there.

To some of us - of a certain age - it says British Motor Corporation.

I should have watched the thread more closely as I missed all the lovely replies to my post.
Of course I'm on a loser defending chav plates here but it's all good fun!

As somebody said if a plate is easily readable to the BiBs wizardry then I really fail to see the problem, if it isn't then by all means fine the miscreant. I feel just the same as the haters on this thread when it comes to distorted, mis-represented plates, anybody who may escape their responsibilities as a road user due to a butchered plate is out of line, pretend letters and screws altering the digits are beneath contempt but as long as the plate is readable to the authorities then how the hell is anybody getting hurt?

If the police don't like my plate they have the power to stop me displaying it and I will comply, if it is entirely transparent to cameras and the like why do you lot get so bent out of shape? I'm not breaking into your shed or pissing on your cat, my plate is not directed at you and it is not in any way detrimental to your life, just enjoy your self and trust the law to do what is right!

And Jaguar Steve, bless you darling.
I've been on this site for years now and you are undoubtedly the weirdest person on here, by a country mile.

I have seen at least 20 rants by you about people from Essex - normally tattooed Range Rover drivers - who you feel are obviously drug dealers who have no morals, their wives are orange coloured slappers and they wish to bring down society and all that is worthy because they've made a zero look like a letter O on their number plate.

Now, being a man of great courage and integrity and having such strong views on these abhorrent practices I take it you make a point of telling these scumbags exactly what you think? I'm sure you approach them and strongly express your disgust. I mean, you obviously don't just come on to this site and spew all your tiny cocked hatred from behind a keyboard without actually having the balls to confront these people you despise so much do you? You're a man of strong morals after all, surely you practise what you preach?

I saw in another thread recently that you asked what car events were happening in Essex this year, some of the stuff listed I will be attending with my chav plate in evidence so I presume you will be making a point of telling me what a worthless, theiving, smack dealing piece of Essex st I am? My partner will be their too so I'm hoping you can let her know what an orange, thick slag she is and how well suited she is to her life as a prostitute. At these events I have also noticed that a large proportion of the cars on display also have chav plates so I'm sure you will be going from car to car and letting them know how you feel as well. You're going to be very busy at these events aren't you Steve? So many deviants, their chlamydic wives and feral children for you to damn with your strong moral code.

You can see the car I drive in my profile and I will be at the Warren Classic and various other events around Essex this year, be sure to come and tell me what a worthless piece of filth I am to my face.
Great post biggrin Not looking to be judgemental or take sides, but what is your plate as a matter of interest br d?

For the same reason i would post if i saw X5 BMA, X5 BMD, X5 BMJ, X5 BMV, or any of the other X5 BM* plates that currently reside on an X5 ; it isn't X5 BMW and it is fairly obvious that is the intention.
I doubt that every owner of an X5 BM* plate on an X5 has BM as the first part of their initials. I stand to be corrected of course, but until then, i class it as crap.

Certainly not worth mine - Seen the title of the tread?

A illegally formatted registration plate clearly demonstrates that the Platee considers satisfying his or her personal vanity and egotism more important than any obligation to comply with the legal requirements. That's not just my opinion, that's actually a fact only a idiot would choose to disagree with. That fact also says all anybody needs to know about the attitude of any person choosing to do so.

BTW I'm from Essex too...
