Just found an advert in Autocar from September 1973:"We have the largest and the best indexed stock in the UK of registration marks available for transfer. [snip]. We also have a stock of christian names like DON, LEE, LES ... and of various amusing marks, the best being ... PEN 15, which is our directors registration. Telephone us day or evening, seven days a week, and keep trying if the line is busy. [snip]. None of our numbers cost less than fifty pounds, and they range up to one thousand pounds.
Abracadabra Registrations".
Followed a charismatic older gent in a blue Mercedes on Sunday through Maidenhead. Charisma indicated by the pale suit, pink shirt, possible cravat (could not identify the entire wardrobe as he stepped out of his car at the roundabout entrance to speak to the pick up that was behind him).
Vehicle was wearing embossed plates reading "BOBBEY K". Simply cannot work out what it purports to be and am more intrigued by the question, 'who is Bobbey K???'.
