Now that really is ridiculous...

It's bad enough when numberplate w*ankers mess with the spacing but one can at least harbour some hope that ANPR could still pick it up but with the butchered '08' here the plate simply has no resemblance to the registration number allocated to the car. It's not as if it improves the look of the car - in fact in my opinion these dodgy plates nearly always make the car look worse (although I can't quite put my finger on why that should be, it's just a feeling).

None of us is perfect and perhaps we are all guilty of infringing a traffic law here and there but it is the blatant showing of two fingers to the law on a permanent basis that gets to me. I can't see why this shouldn't be subject to a penalty of three points on this to**er's licence...

Having said that I like a nice private plate whether it says something humorous or comprises of the driver's initials etc - as long as complies with the regulations.

Not recently, far from it in fact, but I did see PEN15 on a red Merc 190 about 20 years ago :-)
That car belonged to the bike racer Steve Parrish. I saw him on TV once, laughing about it. I saw the same plate on a white XJS in the '80s, around Great Yarmouth.

I've been trying to get a shot of that for months, see it every so often around Waltham Abbey, ghastly plate on a ghastly car.

Saw a Freelander today with R 5OUL,with the 5 slightly modded to look more like an S.

WHY ?

Why would you want that albeit incorrectly spelt on your numberplate ?

Unless Richard Soul is a little naive.

Along the same lines!!!
