I haven't a photo of it yet but V33 DOB runs around here on plates with the top of the 'O' bodged to read like a 'U'...

I have reported it to the police because it looks just like our plate...

This is our plate (now on a VW Up!)

Police Interceptors on Channel 5 tonight - some heavily tattooed bloke in a MR2 kitcar dressed up as a Lambo got done for illegally-spaced plates...result!

If so I think I've seen that one before but it was parked in a disabled bay near the front of the store (well it was raining rolleyes )
Correct, Watchmoor Park.

Sorry, I really can't see what the fuss is about.

I'm not referring to the legality side of it
You can't ignore the "legality side of it" - that's why we have laws. If you don't agree, ask your MP to change them.

jacksplat said:
but if they want the number plate like that, what has it got to do with you or me.
They can't have the plate like that - it's against the law.
It makes it harder to decipher what their actual number is - so they can't be traced by BiB or anyone else with a legitimate interest.
They are the ones making an issue of it by messing around with a perfectly simple plate that is common to all vehicles.
jacksplat said:
Why do they have to have what YOU like.
They don't have to, and I am sure they don't like the more subtle stuff I prefer. They just have to stay legal and not stick two fingers up to a perfectly simple law that it does no harm to obey, not drive round in vehicle with blatantly illegal plates.
jacksplat said:
Would you go and ask them if they even like the car you are driving never mind your number plate!!
What an odd question. I don't care if they like my car or my plate so there wouldn't be a lot of point in asking.

jacksplat said:
If a complete stranger came up to you and said the clothes you were wearing looked complete crud - i am absolutely certain you'd through a fit. Imagine that same person saying your girlfriends hairstyle was crud. You'd flip your lid in no uncertain terms, i have no doubt...
Perhaps I would "through [sic] a fit", who knows, it'll never happen.
jacksplat said:
..and yet you think its socially ok to rip the mick out of someones number plate! Sorry, I don't agree - and suggest you get a life!
Well, you've had a complete logic failure there - we are commenting on the web, not marching up to people and taking issue with their spouse's coiffure. If you can't see the difference then I pity you. As for "get a life" how about getting a less worn cliche?

Saw 2 travesties today, I was driving both times so couldn't grab a photo, and these may not correct to the exact letter (damn memory..) but the format / intent is the same.

D1 14N X - Diana and Ian, such a wonderful couple.

MA AH X - What even?

I'd be very miffed if I owned S1 NGN and kept getting parking/speeding tickets. Misspaced doesn't bother me, butchering to the point it reads something it's not should result in more serious consequences in my mind.

Yes I know the feeling..... " CRA 1C " and " GRA 1G " with carefully placed screws have both caused me some problems over the years with parking/speeding tickets and even a bad press article claiming " CRA 1G " belonged to a fraudster in a multi million VAT scam...... When in fact it was "CRA 1C " ..... But it's all a bit of fun is ant it....... moan NO it's NOT.....! rage

Yep, Jersey are black and yellow (rear)/white (front) with a J prefix

It is only Gurnsey which has the chrome and black plates front and back smile

Its why I keep reporting the VW that sports V33 DOB with a butchered O to read like our cars legit V33 DUB. Three weeks and the police havent been round to his house - I see him every few days and it winds me up wink

Doesn't exist.

Look at the first post on this thread. Is that it?
