In Camberley earlier this afternoon, Black Mercedes SLK, but wearing an SLR plate - certainly didn't look like a McLaren SLR to me
MS 55 SLR on the front.
M55 5 SLR on the rear.
The plate was either M555 SLR or MS55 SLR - I say either as they had represented it both ways, so at least one of the reg plates actually belongs on another car
Small world as I was just behind that on the A30 after school yesterday trying to work out what it could mean!MS 55 SLR on the front.

On a serious note, how is the plate at risk? I'm genuinely quite concerned here as I also have a 'very old plate' - dating from the same mid nineties era as the car itself. Am I at risk too?
Yes, it's the spacing. Mis-spacing a plate can lead to it being "reclaimed" by the DVLA, it's in the terms and conditions when you buy a plate from them, though I'm not sure how or if it would apply if it's the original plate.Sorry if parrot applied here. Not wanting to open a debate about the likelihood of getting any attention from the constabulary for this as it's been done already.

This particular one has 'lost' around ten years?? (Can't be arsed to look it up)!

Spotted this nice 14 plate BMW earlier
Makes a total mockery of the DVLA rule whereby a vehicle may not have a number plate that suggests that the car is newer than it really is.This particular one has 'lost' around ten years?? (Can't be arsed to look it up)!

We have seen crappy, bodged, illegal, and abusive plates on this thread, but this one has to belong to the saddest contestant. Does he really think anyone will look at this and say ''ooo, what a lovely new car?'
How many people ever say ''ooo, what a lovely new car?' nowadays? When I was alive, a new car really looked 'new' (Perhaps mainly because in a few months a new car had faded +/or rusted) and each manufacturer's output was distinguishable from the others'. Most car models were attractive, too. No Tonkas or shopping carts.

Only if they have no concept of how a number plate normally looks, as the last 3 digits should be letters. I sometimes have muppets thinking my car is newer than it is because the perfectly legal, never messed with plate starts W107***, it's not an '07'
