For those who cannot be bothered guessing...L15A LD with two yellow screw covers apparently glued over the top arc of the 'C' and a massive gap between the 'A' and the 'L'.

But secretly, yes, I'd like to be a superhero, something like "The Masked Number Plate Avenger". I'd have a cape, with BS AU 145d lettering and an EC Council Regulation 2411/98 Union Flag on it, and a Transit Connect van with a plate making machine in the back. Then I'd travel the length and breadth of this (once) great nation of ours, removing and destroying butchered and illegal plates, and replacing them with completely standard, fully compliant ones

* Characters must be 79mm tall
* Characters (except the number 1 or letter I) must be 50mm wide

J817 NYT on a black Nissan 4x4 today near York. Yellow bolt in the middle of the 8, the 1 was curved in the top left corner, the top of the 7 was curved and it was pushed up next to the 1, and NY was moved left so the plate read J817NY T

An S is not a butchered 5, its an S.
So, to clarify and to avoid all future confusion..
the plate is M ONE FIVE FIVE (m155) but they have had it made with M I S S (all letters) ?
the other solution is to take a picture, like most others do
