£5.5 K in 1997.
Oooh....I think I would have defended you, I KNOW that is mis-spaced and I would rather it was not, but I just can't call that crappy..
You can call it illegal though. And that's a fact, not a matter of opinion.
So is setting cruise control at 75mph on a motorway, but thousands do it daily, nothing bad happens and even the scamera vans don't bother with them.

Life becomes a little difficult to reconcile if one chooses only to see things in black or white.
Both illegal of course. But the difference between occasionally nudging a few mph over the limit, possibily quite justifiably or maybe inadvertently and very blatently sticking two fingers up at the law for no other reason than you're convinced bolstering your fragile ego is far more important than any obligation to display a legal numberplate is huge.

Thats the real issue here, the fkuc the law egotistical attitude illegal plates represent.
Agreed. There are worse crimes but that is absolutely no defence to planned deliberate daily law breaking.
I'd suggest that setting your cruise control at 75mph is deliberate and planned too, rather than accidental which would imply you were too incompetent to operate your vehicle.

Your own logic here has just made some laws more applicable than others based upon your own personal views on what is acceptable and what is not. That's rather hypocritical.
Not hypocritical at all. I'm not condoning either offence, I've already said both are illegal and offered my take on why the two offences are diffferent in cause and nature that's all.

I'll take it as a reasonable assumption your hostility towards the fact being highlighted that particular plate is illegal is because you have a similar illegal/crappy/chav one yourself and leave it there before anybody else kicks off.

Absolutely nothing illegal about any of my cars at all. I just find it hilarious that someone can be such a busybody about this sort of thing on a forum. Don't you have anything to talk about on a car forum besides number plates?

Phew, that's ok then. I was beginning to think it was Jaguar Steve's dismissal of everyone as chavs that was getting annoying!

Seems to be loads of this sort of crap in the West Mids lately.

is that just blatently changing a 2 into a Z ?
Yes. And unlawful spacing.
is this not classed as PCJ
ie: speed cameras etc ?

Progress!!

Local village vanity chavplater previously posted on here has rightly been tugged by Plod for his crime which is now correctly and legally displayed.

Hopefully Plod will also now reprimand his chavplating partner displying her illegal stplate

D H12TON

along with adjoining local chavplater hairdresser MR S1MTH with similar effect. (previously posted).

Good to see Plod taking this stance against the local illegal 'professionals' scratchchin their exemplary code of conduct hehe one would normally expect to cover not making a cock of oneself or bringing ones 'profession' into disrepute by displaying an illegal stplate in a vain attempt to promote business.

By coincidence, all offenders drive low rent wannabee chavmobile 'Aldis'. Most telling. biggrin:

M6 WET. In a 6 series with M6 badges. The car is a 645i.

RH11NO W - spotted on a signwritten VAUXHALL VIVARO (2700 SPORTIVE CDTI) van. The "11" was squashed together. I bet you'll never guess what the company name was...

I took me a while to work out what this plate was trying to spell. Still not sure but my best guess is Stacy or Stacey. S14YCY seems to be a long way from achieving that even when butchered.

Apologies for the poor camera phone image.

Can't remember if I've posted this before or not, but a while ago I saw an Audi A6 on the M11 with the number plate J 5NOW. It was being driven by the Channel 4 newsreader Jon Snow

A couple from early this afternoon in and around Farnborough...

I mentioned this one earlier. This time I took a photo.

Nowt illegal about this one, but quite literally 'crappy'.

This was just wrong on so many levels. You think the plate is bad from that distance?

Just wait until you see what is written below the VRN. "Sinister Ride"??? WT actual F?

The wonky "carbon fibre" (weight saving on an X5? Illogical, Captain) 'M' badges (4 in total), topped it right off for me.

The X5 would be a good fit on the misbadging thread as well hehe

From my travels today in the bad lands of Frimley & Camberley:

S666XY B on a Black "Euro Scene" Audi TT. Slogan on the plate read "Sexy bh". I can confirm the driver of the car was anything but sexy - unless you're a fan of copious amounts of fake tan and fake designer sunglasses vomit

S1X BS on a Saab 9-3 Cabriolet.
