Shame this has been mis-spaced because I quite like it.

no pics of the examples but i'm increasing seeing the most boringly 'normal' plates being purchased as private plates, and their owners being proud as punch about their purchase.

examples along the lines of - the simpson family buying the plate S567 BLM. The BLM represents the initials of their 3 kids. Or John Smith buying the plate JS07 SMH.

Each to their own and all that but 4-500 quid for a plate like that? silly

Saw this on the TV coverage of the BBC GP qualifying. You'd think Eddie Jordan could afford a decent plate rather than butchering a NI one.

He can and that's it, in his eyes that's the plate he wants.

The funniest thing amongst all the rabid nonsense on this thread is the "That's a good car ruined" quip.
Ruined for who FFS? Some sad stranger with camera phone and an internet connection? If somebody finds a plate they like, buys it and then fits it on their car they obviously feel comfortable with it, they are happy, what in the world would make you think they have ruined their car?

Nobody cares what you think.

And don't bother with the usual "flouting the law" and "displaying selfishness" crap unless you've never exceeded a speed limit in your life.

Do give over, it's just a bit of fun, taking the piss out of what is quite a strange and pointless vanity based craze.

What a load of bollexs!

Sorry for the poor quality rushed shot, but this was pulling away just as I pulled up behind him!
The plate is actually BO11 EXS, but doesn't come up on mycarcheck, so maybe its only just been fitted.
He has actually modified the 11 so its got a small horizontal line at the bottom of each 1 to try to make them look like an L, it looked like a right dogs dinner laugh

I dont get irate about these plates, I just wonder why someone would do that, is there some kind of peacock gene ?

Is like they want the exclusivity of a private plate and try to fudge it, even good ones can be a bit conspicuous.

Is it the same mentality having BOLLEX on your plate that allows people to wear a t shirt with "I pumped yer maw" like the one I saw the other day or like the PT cruisers my son saw today that had every piece of chrome tat under the sun stuck to them, its like some people are missing something mentally.

However, we need people to be different otherwise we wouldnt all be such arbiters of good taste and would having nothing to sneer at.

Woahhhh br d

1)I don't think I mentioned any car being ruined?
2) If you don't care what I think, why comment?
3) who's the one with rabid response?

People in glasshouses throwing stones etc

I have absolutely no idea how this was created.

On a pre LCI E60 520d SE (not M) with Gangsta! tints.
This needs more investigation.

I don't think it's an actual numberplate at all.
