A very cool car and nice read. Always had a soft spot for Bristols.

Possibly the best PH Carpool car I have ever read about. Although I've never been in one, any Bristol is surely an exception to the 'never meet your heroes' rule.

So quintessentially English; discreet style.
The only downside, as I see it, is that you may enter a circle of Owners who exude effortless 'cool', but there is always Liam Gallagher there as a gatecrasher, waiting to lower the tone.....

I've always been aware of Bristols, but have never known anyone to own one personally. Therefore my knowledge is somewhat limited and purely based on heresay from friends of friends. Hence why I enjoyed the write-up, some facts from an actual owner....

I remember having a business meeting with an accountant in Bath once.. (bear with me)

Somehow the conversation turned to cars and he told me about his Bristol 400 series in a lock up nearby..

Upshot was that he insisted on taking me for a drive from the centre of Bath up Lansdown hill and the A46 to the M4 junction and back again...

He was DEFINATELY proving he could "keep up" with modern traffic!!!

Nice write up.
Lovely car.
I so miss my 411.

Can I echo the idea that if you are in the market for one of these then the Bristol Owners' Club is a good place to start. I don't know about nowadays but they used to produce an owner list/history of Bristol cars that was among the best resources you could find... it came as part of your initial membership. I still have mine...

I don't object to Liam Gallagher owning a Bristol - good for him.
He's gone up in my estimation in taking a left-field choice like this rather than a black Range Rover Sport or any number of identikit black Mercs.

What a wonderful car. It's great to see that you use it just as Bristol intended.

Can't see for tears of schoolboy mirth now.
I'm glad I'm not the only one! I nearly choked on my coffee when I read that!

Great car by the way! Saw a maroon 403 at a classic show this summer and it really was the car of the show!

Superb, thank you. Joint first on my list together with a Tatra 613-5.

May I ask for interior photographs, please?

Great write up!

Love the idea of a "gastronomic tour of France" in something like this!

You're living the dream!
