Well to me it was a hot hatch in disguise, and therefore a valid Q-car. How many people would expect one to have 250hp?
It's on the list, let it go, it's safe. wink

I don't think anyone has mentioned a Legacy SpecB yet. They seem faster than the figures suggest. Mid range is especially good with the STi six speed manual and they rev really nicely. The saloon is probably stealthier than the estate. I loved mine and only got the E500 to compliment the TVR with another V8 and the fact that it wasn't great to drive in town.

What about the Thema 8-32? Only 215bhp I think, but it was in '86.
150 mph. Was stealthy. Probably too classic now.

450 SEL 6.9 if you debadged it very few people would know, nice and subtle
Excellent choice. I think most of us would be proud to have a tidy example on our drives.

i know of someone with a 400hp 306 that does 0-100 in 10 seconds. Has a hdi badge on the back, no spoiler and standard wheels.

It's not 'fast' but come on, it's not that bad!

One further- the 800 in champagne gold with the same engine!
The Rover 800's were good cars. Was it the 820ti the police used to use?
No 820ti exists -it was either Vitesse (mk2)or 820 Turbo(mk1) - but Police used mainly v6 827s and standard no turbo 820 140bhp

Looks like I missed all the fun. Btw, if that Corsa was built by the owner then much respect for that. Not my cup of tea either but I have some awfully oddball cars myself.

or even stealthier... a 3 ton pickup that will do 0-60 in 6 seconds from the factory

biggrin There's nothing stealth like about that. Surprising certainly, grin inducing perhaps but stealthy... Not so much
Would you feel the same way about this poverty spec chevy silverado? (it has a 6.2 v8 with 400+hp)

As already discussed, there's nowt stealthy about any vehicle the size of a housing estate, no matter how poverty spec it is. The key is to not stand out, and very little stands out on British roads like a Canyonero Silverado.

Hang on a mo. This is an international forum. True, the Silverado would stand out like a sore thumb on British roads, but in its home market, that is a pretty damned stealthy option.

this is the short wheelbase model... it's about the same size as a VW amarok, so not gigantically large and comes with unpainted plastic bumpers and steel wheels.

From a distance I recon joe blogs public would not be able to tell the difference between that and your average tradesman's hilux.

Point taken, and you're spot on. I suppose I took that particular stance because the OP was based in London, so I was trying to relate choices to the OP's comment. (Equally fair, it's for the OP to judge what suits his situation more than it is for me!) You are correct that it depends on where you are in the world.

I would disagree, but it is just an opinion and I understand that some people would disagree. I think American trucks stand out (in Europe!), even in poverty spec. Saying it's as small as an Amarok feels to me like describing something as being healthy as a Big Mac and Fries.

If you live in New Hampshire though... good call.
