My little red wagon is, while not supercar quick, nippy enough to surprise, and in granny spec red is pretty subtle (I like to think anyway).

You need to be a bit of a car geek to tell a Mondeo ST220 from a cooking model.
Really??

How about the Lexus GS450h?
Less than 6 seconds to 60mph and on to 155mph limited - all this with looks that draw no attention whatsoever to the car!

....... (Good mpg for a v6 petrol too!)

ETA. As others have said, it isn't stealthy either.

Agree on the engineering. Agree on the stealth factor.

Doesn't exactly excuse the attitude in some of the posts though...

OK, point one: Yes it is still registered as a 1229cc, this is because DVLA are making it damned near impossible to register it as the 1998cc that it is. He bought the engine privately and legitimately from a fellow Corsa-C .co.uk member down in Glasgow so he doesn’t have a receipt or invoice. He’s contacted Vauxhall dealers and even written and phoned direct to VX at Ellesmere Port where the car was built and no one can provide evidence that the engine number is that of a Z20LET, despite the engine number starting with “Z20LET” !! It’s not that this particular engine has dodgy provenance it’s that their system cannot back track to provide the necessary information!! If anyone on here can help us with this we’d be extremely grateful.

Point Two: Thanks for the comment “I don't like the car but I admire the engineering that must have gone into it” We’ll take that as a veiled compliment.

Point Three: Regards the comment “ETA. As others have said, it isn't stealthy either” If you look back you’ll find that I surrendered to that one a while back.

Point Four: In answer to “Doesn't exactly excuse the attitude in some of the posts though...” Right, If you are referring to me and my previous messages and retorts, I got and accepted my bking for that from the moderator at the time, I got sin binned and I did my time. Furthermore I have been far more positive and polite and have refrained from venting my spleen in quite such an extreme manner since that episode. If you disagree please point out just where since Wednesday 28th November 2012 that I have posted anything that could be construed as either offensive or nasty? If you cannot substantiate this comment please drop it and refrain in your attempts to cause an argument.

But you're posting in a thread that's named "Which "stealth" fast car?". As others have said, it's a nice project but it doesn't belong in this thread. Have you considered making a build thread on Readers Cars?

Surely with all that power on the front wheels it just spins for days?

Dont see it beating a scooby or evo from a standing start.
Did I actually give the parameters of the claim? On this open (to plod) forum I would neither disclose or discuss the subject anyway. The car was built as a project for the lad to self-learn how to engineer more power in to it, not to go out being a hooligan on the road. I'd say he'd fulfilled that.

With new Toyo Proxies on the driven wheels the torque steer is no where near as bad as we had expected, We've tried it on private land and found it to be a handful but very manageable surprisingly.
No offence, but you sound like an absolute bellend.

The sort of bellend who would come onto an open internet forum, show his "lad's" car to a bunch of strangers, and then start an argument with them when they don't like it.

In actual fact, I'm a bit ashamed with myself for bothering to type that...

You're very chippy and defensive about a suped-up Vauxshopper, and yet your SPAG is excellent.

You are exactly the type that I am not going to lower myself to take up a conversation with. You are the type that do not contribute anything constructive to a discussion but does come on and look for trouble. Cheerio.

I used to have an '02-plate Monaco Blue 172 at the same time that my wife had a bog-standard 1.2 8v.

I removed the "1.2" badges from her car and put them on my 172, in place of the silver "2.0" badges that were on the front edge of the door rubbing strip.

Had a lot of fun in that car. woohoo
