Which "stealth" fast car ?

Why do people want a stealth car?
To surprise other people in street races? Does anyone actually street race in the UK, surely one of the worst and least appropriate countries in the world for doing so. Why not just have a car that people already know the specs of so you win without having to even race.
Or is it to avoid the attention of a 'flashy' high-powered car? If so why not just buy a big diesel model rather than trying to hide away your V8 - do you also drive it gently the whole time so no-one hears and realises what it is?
I do not see the point of wanting a fast car to not look like a fast car, or rather ... I do not see the point of actively trying to hide the fact that it is a fast car.
I think some people just want a car that is fun to drive without people making a judgement about that person or attracting vandals, thieves and boy racers. To surprise other people in street races? It's ironic that many young people want a car that looks expensive when it's cheap, or looks fast when it's slow. Then when you're a bit older I think you want the function without the hassle, as a flash and/or fast looking car has it's downsides.

Sometimes it's nice to have a quick, enjoyable car without the attention of the scrotes in novas egging you on or trying to prove something. To surprise other people in street races? On that note though, when was the last time you actually saw a scrote in a Nova?I'm not sure anything can be stealthy in this age. Everyone has access to information and stats, so truthfully unless its fiesta with a V8 shoehorned in the middle, most half baked car drivers will know what a car is...

This is my new car:
Looks exactly like all the other diesel A6s on the road but packs a 350hp V8 . With the SE suspension and smaller wheels I think it looks very conservative but it makes dirty noises and goes rather well.
The other contender I was considering was the Skoda Superb 3.6 4x4 DSG. Not as fast as the Audi but still considerably faster than anyone would expect it to be.

Very nice choice. I looked at this in Avant guise....ended up with the 3.6 Superb outlined earlier in thread. It's on it's winter rims which make it more stealth looking although lowered stance gives a hint to what it can do and gives the game away a little. Been in and out of hospital after a prang in another car so looking forward to driving the thing soon

That's tremendous! Hit the "stealth" nail on the head there.Looks exactly like all the other diesel A6s on the road but packs a 350hp V8 . With the SE suspension and smaller wheels I think it looks very conservative but it makes dirty noises and goes rather well.
