That is truly breath taking.......Where do i sign....
One question..
How does it sound so "burbly" when it is running at very high RPMS?
When you see/hear the Audi S4/RS4 v8's for example at high RPMS, they appear to be screaming their nuts off.
The V8 RS4, on the other hand, revs to 8250 rpm...

Thanks!
Blown engines have to run lower compression which is why they have a much bassier sound. Think of rally cars - highly tuned but always sound relatively unstressed due to the low compression ratio. Something like a Ferrari 355 sounds so high pitched due to revs and high compression ratio (I.e. Top efficiency with a known volumetric ratio).

Ok, but why lower compression for a blown engine and i guess higher compression for non?I genuinely dont know.

To stop detonation on the blown engine and to get a decent BMEP on the N/A one.I disagree with the reasoning for the burble though - old, non-turbo diesels have very high compression ratios (~23:1) and usually sound like a bag of spanners.

Jaguar have never been able to better the M5, even though they release their attempt a good while after the release of the BMW. Maybe with the artificial feel of F10 and that bks of a gearbox, they might have a chance -- why can't BMW just stick a f'ing manual in the big barge, then nothing could compare.

To cope with the torque, the gearbox would have to be big and full of heavy bits. The gear linkage would be like a truck - not very Jag-like.C

I want Jag to succeed , But a gentleman can't buy a car with a big wing on the boot.
A XJ Super Sport remains of interest, sadly the XFR-s does not. The look reminds me of those MG badged Rovers. Look what happened to them.
Jag are trying to attract younger buyers these days so the fact that this doesn't interest gentlemen and the fact that the XJSS still does, is a win win really.A XJ Super Sport remains of interest, sadly the XFR-s does not. The look reminds me of those MG badged Rovers. Look what happened to them.

Agreed. Spoiler doesn't look as bad in the snaps of it wearing camo, but the carbon fibre monstrosity in the press release picture looks dyer in my opinion. An optional 'aero pack' would be a first for Jaguar though wouldn't it? *crosses fingers*pti said:

Are you calling me old ?Fair enough, i suspect to you 48 is old.
However I actually do have the cash to buy one of these, plus a love of Jaguars and experience of V8s.
A massive wing and ungainly aero package doesnt say "young" just says "w*nker".
