Not a pretty estate at all.

Thankfully not for us.
They look fantastic in the 'flesh', also they have gret spec and handle pretty well.

This would have been a brilliant car for the UK.

No way, that would have bombed over here, no one wants high powered petrol Megane's, Renault struggle to shift the diesel ones even thought they are good cars.
I didn't mean sales wise. I just want one as a demo.

Fair point.

Thats a minging looking motor. Girl beside me in work (in Switzerland) drives a 3.2 A3 quattro sportback estate. They do very well out here. But people are right theres very little in terms of a fast estate if it ain't an audi or the likes.

the demise and gradual withdrawal of renault from the UK gives me a little pleasure being a my ex's Dad was a Renault dealer and quite a of a man. At 19 he made me feel about 5, and a lot of his bad traits had been passed on to the offspring! I couldn't stand the fked and I hope this means he's gone bust. off topic but thought i'd share to break up the "oo that's nice" "that's rubbish" footfall.
Is Renault the trigger for you?
Seems like her certainly knew which of your buttons to press back then....
Still, you let it all out amongst friends... Like group therapy. Your first day of acceptance. The beginning of recovery.

It's fair enough. They'd have sold about three.

It's not small.

It's not fast.

Emerging market?

Almost a decade ago we had the Mondeo ST220 estate, which was pretty popular, fast, and about as 'small' as this Megane is.

Biturbo RS4 likely smaller, and much faster.

RS2, smaller again and faster.

A Megane *used* to be small but it's huge now.

Funny how man maths works. My wife wanted a puppy to keep our labrador company. She loved her Alfa 166 and whilst the boot was plenty big enough, it wasn't appropriate for the dogs nor the kids. My answer - a 159 with four wheel drive, torquey V6 3.2 and a natty bootliner. She loves it, but it's far too nice to take the dogs out. They stay at home.

Best looking estate since the ridiculously named Ferrari 456 Venice?

Is that a real(official)one? I know there have been a few E46 Tourings converted to look like that.

The number of TCe 180 Megane Sport Tourers sold was very small, so the market on these would have been smaller still. Trust me I did the sums!

I know, i am on the hunt for a GT one 5dr or estate to replace my DCi 175 and they are even rarer, even the diesels! there are a few more GT lines, but they dont get the chassis upgrades

Dont think its a minger though, for a C class hatch/estate its not bad

ST estate isnt to bad from the back a few at work these days, but not keen on the front grill

Yes it is. I can't remember which forum insaw the rest of that series of pictures, but there were all sorts of prototypes that never got the green lift for production. 760i (I think) e32 with a V16 built for BMW's Paul Rosche being one of my favs!
