Renault's marketing plan (if there is one) for the UK amazes me at the moment. Just about all you will be able to buy is a limited range of Twingo, Clio and Megane.

That is almost as bad as Alfa Romeo with their two car range - and that seems to be responsible for their sales nose diving rapidly.

Maybe Renault want us to support Sunderland and the Nissan clones of Renaults?
What we want is more choice not less.

Thing is if anyone posts on here I might buy a Renault there will be scores telling them it's a really bad idea. They are left with the people who don't care or who don't know, and they will not be buying a high power petrol.

Renault UK did that and it didn't work, so they streamlined their range, dropped the engines and models that didn't sell or make any money and you are left with a much simpler choice, they are in it now for profit not numbers.

Look at Ford and Vauxhall, they offer a massive array of different spec and engine combinations per model to the point of being confusing and offering ridiculous discounts to every man and his dog that are just not sustainable and no matter what people may believe or think even though the numbers that they sell are huge they are not profitable and both actually make massive losses in Europe and are in bigger financial troubles than Renault.

'Before this year, it had been a while since we’d seen a small, sporty estate car from a mainstream manufacturer. We’ve been chatting about it here at PH Towers, and the last we could remember was the Focus ST170, but since that model was axed in 2004, there’s been very little to replace it'

Would the Octavia vRS Estate not fall into this category, I appreciate it is a big bigger, but price wise, pretty comparable?
Yep, saved me the trouble of typing that. Vrs wagon has 200bhp and is £21k new.

They actually look a whole lot better in the flesh (which is good, considering that the regular 5 door hatch and the saloon look pretty awful).

In terms of smaller, fast estates, surely the Octavia vRS needs to be mentioned here? In either petrol or diesel guises. Ok, 220bhp does stump 180bhp, but with the right chip you can have over 200bhp in either. Not to be sniffed at. Plus, I'd rather the build quality of the Skoda over the Renault (even if the Megane does have a better chassis)

Whilst helping some friends who had broken down on the Stelvio Pass a few months ago, a Swiss dude in a white sporty looking Laguna estate pulled over for a quick chat.

I actually thought it looked quite a handsome car.

Am I the only one who thinks that my car is quite pretty? Admittedly it is sensitive to colour and wheels, but what isn't?

These are no officially on sale in the UK as a coupe, hatchback and estate.

Looks to be a good spec with 20PS, decent interior and equipment levels, and RenaultSport have worked on the chassis settings.

List prices look high but there are large discounts available through the usual on line brokers.
