Proud to admit that I have never been anywhere near Twitter, but if anything could tempt me this would be it. What a wonderful selection of cars!

I do love this though, serves as a great reminder that PHers come in all shapes and sizes.
Just what I thought (I did send mine in).

Twitter is a great social media tool and I have had some great conversations with like minded car guys on there.
It was nice to post up the car yesterday and see it on a website with so many user as this one, very surprising.

I own the Mk4 Cortina by the way.

I was like that... Completely shunned twitter and Instagram.

But about 6 months ago I decided to see what all the fuss was about, caved in, and added twitter and Instagram to my lonely Facebook profile.

Now, I really enjoy twitter for a bit of light reading of tweets from the interesting sources I follow (such as PH) and I absolutely love Instagram, I get a constant stream of interesting photos from friends and family, and from others I'm following like Speedhunters who constantly post super-cool photos of anything interesting from modern supercars, custom stuff, crazy jap cars, and everything in between smile

Why was the question not asked here on the forums out of interest? Many of us here don't 'do' social media, thereby severely limiting the number of actual PHers who'd see it.

I'm sure the answers would've been far more varied if it had been asked here.
Threads galore here to share your car, lots and lots of opportunities to post images and info as the owner chooses to. You can even submit carpool entries too. Look around us at all the threads and forums...readers cars, one marque areas and editorials all on readers cars.

Community extends to other mediums these days, just look at the number of followers who join us elsewhere away from PH.com (about 50,000 on social channels). You don't have to use social media, but for those that do we like to keep it as enjoyable as the forums as we feel we owe it to those that consume PH in other ways. To restrict interaction to one area is pretty one-dimensional these days and while the forums are (and always will be) our main community area, we'd be pretty foolish not to be available elsewhere.

Much in the same way that some who use the classifieds don't post here, ditto those that read the news, we have to keep the PH experience alive regardless of your point of entry. PH has hundreds of thousands of members registered to post, but over 4 million who read the site every month (and who all use the site in different ways) but all of which are a welcome and important part of PH as a whole.

Surely the forum is the community, not bloody facebook and Twitter!

That red S2000 looks familiar. Anyone know who's it is? If it's yours, were you on the Stelvio pass in the middle of June last year?
If it was, it wasn't in my ownership, only had it since February. Don't think the previous owner took it abroad, did hardly any miles in it in a couple of years.

Should be on the Stelvio next September though wink

I agree with what Garlick is saying to be honest, yes the forum is the community, but the numbers joining Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc are massive... And you have to move with the times to continue growing.

Yes, I enjoy contributing to the forum, but I actually find the frequent posts by PH on Facebook/Twitter very useful.

As I mentioned above, until 6 months ago I totally ignored Instagram, but then got the app and now if I open it for a quick coffee break browse I am greeted by heaps of random photos from all manner of fascinating people and organisations in the motoring industry smile

I honestly recommend it!

News to me, that one! It looks like it wants to be an original Twingo when it grows up.

Thats great and if it works for you its fine but I spend too much of my time as it is in front of this laptop so its not something I am really interested in. I do have a Facebook profile but only rarely do I venture on there to see what friends from my RAF days are up to. These sites do have their uses but some seem to have their lives taken over by them. smile

Fitted with a turbo-charged engine from a Sunny too. Notice the large intercooler?

I think the ol' S Cargo (designed to be like a snail IIRC - hence the name) was around before the Twingo. Those crazy JDM specials eh?

Wowzers. I bet that's a giggle. What does it weigh with that drivetrain? And which wheels are driven?! Epic silliness.

I see what you are saying, but for me, Twitter/Facebook/Instagram is a "coffee break on the iphone/iPad" thing not a laptop/computer thing.

Like you, I spend a lot of time at work in front of my laptop, so don't have much love for more time in front of it, so a quick glance through some apps like twitter is nice little break every so often.

But yes, some people allow it to become all consuming which isn't great!

I was there last year (in my mini, rather than the S2k) and saw a red AP1 on British plates coming down the South side as we were going up. I, of course, waved at him like a lunatic, forgetting that I wasn't in the S2!

I've just dug through my pictures and the S2000 appears in the corner of one of them, but not clearly enough to see the reg number. Red seems a pretty unusual colour, so I wondered if it was the same one. Maybe not.

Excuse the quality of the image, the missus was desperately clinging onto the camera, while an over-excited idiot (that'd be me) was flinging her around a mountain road:
