He also has no crash helmet and apparently no preparation on his car - other than possibly an additional gauge in the dash. (Is that his shopping in the passenger footwell?) Was this done as part of an event, or just on his route home from Sainsburys?

If that sounds insufferably boring, the diesels are in ridiculous american pickups, with a bunch of owners seemingly cast from the same mould.

The trucks look tough but are seemingly constantly on the verge of mechanical catastrophe. I think if you entered in a stock pickup, you could probably end up mid table just by surviving.

Watch how close they stand to dyno runs. One competitor even said that his truck was built purely for dyno-ing...

Why is there no coolant used in this around the 8:30 mark?

ETA: Seeing that "smoke" usually meant disaster when I was doing CNC milling at university
