I prefer the sound of the Ferrari.

Did i miss something or were there virtually no gear changes on the Porsche run?

No doubt the 250 sounds better but the overall filming and setting put the Porsche in front for me. I noticed the lack of gear change early on, seemed to do a few more later but also struggled with a few so I think the gearbox wasn't as healthy as it could have been.
