I love the Morgan, but it really needs a radial engine in front smile

They're a bit tall.
Well, point the nose skyward by lifting the front.

While you're at it, fit a propeller and some wings please biggrin.

Fair enough - Morgan don't know how fast it is themselves!!! Ha ha. Everywhere else on the site quotes the 4.5s :

"Weight: 500kg (Est.)
Power: 80bhp (at wheel) (Est.)
Top Speed: 115mph (Est.)
0-60 : 4.5 seconds (Est.)
Engine: 1990cc 'V twin'
Gearbox: 5 speed + reverse
Aluminium body
Motor tricycle homologa"

Wonder if the engine has changed, since the brochure says "S&S 1976cc ‘V twin’" and the site pages say "Engine: 1990cc 'V twin'"
4.5 is very, very optimistic for 160hp/ton. That's more 300hp/ton territory. Marketing man getting over excited?

As a keen road going quad biker it ticks a number of boxes that the quad bike is going to struggle with as I become older, crumbly, and frail.

Looking like Biggles isn't what I had in mind, that it's suitably different and has huge amounts of hooning potential is what appeals.

Don't get this car, or why people really like it - I suppose each to their own, or I have not quite reached my mid-life crisis.
You're not alone. I'm sure it'd be a giggle for a sunny Sunday afternoon or two but, for me, I think the novelty of pretending to be Biggles would wear off pretty fast. What then? You're left with a car that's not very fast, doesn't handle very well and cost you 30+ grand.
I don't know. The Morgan + Paddock Hill Bend + a damp track. Could you ever got bored of that?

Exactly. It produces 80bhp at the wheels, which according to PH's own story means 115bhp:

Oops. Sorry about that. Now edited for accuracy, and the relevant people have been told to go and sit in the corner and watch back-to-back re-runs of Eldorado for the next couple of hours.
Whoa whoa whoa Delilah, no need to be that harsh on them... hehe

You're missing the point, they're not meant to be super cars, but they are more fun at the legal limit than most other cars, get it right and you're drifting around corners and getting the back out.

Not for everyone admittedly but it is a giggle a minute. I've clocked up the best part of 4,000 miles in mine now and it was probably me and my son that were spotted on the way to LMC, he even managed a few laps of the track in it.

To me the competitor is something like a Caterham. Are they more fun than that?

LOL if you want a special livery on one of these get a vehicle wrap for a grand, and change it when bored

Surely a Tartan rug theme would have been more appropriate.

I saw this at the bike show today, it looked great. I would have picked the red one next to it though.

I've driven one (and own a cheap-ish Caterham) and I'd say they are equally fun, in very different ways. Dynamically the Morgan isn't amazing, and as said the brakes are poor, but it's more of an event to get in and drive, and sounds and looks great, at least in my view. The Morgan's a much rarer beast too.

Both are expensive, and mainly fair-weather, toys. You pay your money and take your choice. I suspect a lot of 3-wheeler buyers have a practical car, and a sportscar (probably a Morgan/Weismann or similar) too.

It's certainly not going to compete with a top end Caterham, but you can probably have as much fun at 2/3rds the speed, yes the brakes take some getting used to and setting up for a fast corner is a little different you need to be thinking a bit further ahead if you don't it'll bit you.

With the 3 wheeler you don't need to speed to get a grin going. Don't get me wrong it's not slow. I went on a PH run earlier in the year and I managed to keep up.

I wonder how much an extra wheel at the back would cost?

You see that dot on the horizon? That's the point, and you appear to have completely missed it.
