No one who would buy an M5 would buy that instead with that god awful wing and body colour. Not exactly Q car or grown up performance.

I actually quite like this. Spoiler perhaps a bit much. French blue looks lovely in the flesh although very 'shouty' for a Jag saloon.

I drove the same coloured XKR-S with presumably the identical 550bhp engine this will get at the Jaguar testing facility at Gaydon. Incredible engine and mated to what I beleive is a ZF box, worked well as an auto and paddleshift manual when wanted. If they can replicate the sound of the XKR-S then they're on to a winner...

I thought it was a Monaro as well!

I'm a fan of spoilers and all that, but on a car that suits it. All a bit max power for me on a big car like this (and I have a big spoiler on my s2k lol), the M5 does without spoilers and looks good for it.

Wow!! That's just stunningly tasteless!

I'm not sure what brand of crack they're smoking, but I'm pretty sure they bought it in 1994.

Dark blue with no spoiler is how I'd like my M5 basher.

Guess I'm stuck with a normal XFR then(or not as I simply don't have enough magic beans) smile

If the rear wing actually adds downforce, then is serves as function over form - I would say it is acceptable, even on a saloon.

If it is purely cosmetic, then I agree it is a little chavvy and OTT.

Not a fan at all I'm afraid, it is far too vulgar for my tastes. I love the M5 because it looks just like a regular M Sport to most normal people - it blends in. This simply doesn't.

From the company that make the XJ, and even the XF in standard form, this is just tacky.

Not sure who'd buy it.

Someone who likes huge spoilers and shouty wheels AND wants a large saloon AND has what.. £60k, £70k to spend on one AND says no to an M5, Audi RS or Merc AMG - seems a small group to me.

I hope there is a rear spoiler delete option.......not for me!
Without the spoiler, yes please.

We do need to remember that there will be a strong international market for this and they will like the spoiler. I travel to Kiev a couple of times each year and can see this being popular there so it could translate to a lot of sales in Russia with the spoiler. Hopefully at least the dealers will be able to delete it easily in the UK, with a less shouty colour it will be great, that blue works on the XK but not the XF for me.

Not sold on the rear spoiler either, like the paint job and intead black alloy and maybe black carbon fibre roof would have done it for me.
If the spoiler is a necessity maybe an electronic one that grows from the boot when driven hard and retracts?

Far too vulgar for a Jag, looks more like a Holden. M5 any day of the week.

It looks fking stupid.

Seriously - have they been reading Evo from 1998 & decided the "Subaru" look was what was needed for this car?

I'm probably in their target market for that car but wouldn't be seen anywhere near it. If this was seen without the press release, I can guarantee it would be in the "Horrors in the PH Classifieds" thread quicker than you can say "Chav Wheels".

What a cock up.

Has everyone forgotten the current M5 plays engine noises through its speakers to sounds sporty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love old M5s, the V8 E39 (brilliant allrounder + manual box), then the V10 - awesome engine, and the current incarnation is simply not as good a drivers car, I tried it, and while it is a rocket ship it is not a joy.
