I like it, but why have a fake strut brace? Ok it may look nice through the rear glass, but adding weight by using something that is not required is just daft. Leave it off or put in one (nicely designed) that does the job.

Audi TT and Z4 are not rivals. The Cayman is 50% MORE EXPENSIVE! It wants to be better.

£50k to drive round in a car that you see everywhere is a no no from me.

When you walk into the garage and it's parked next to an identically priced 2008 997 Turbo.... No brainer.

Looking very good, looking forward to a drive in one.

Rear 3 quarter shot has some Panamera design in there. front quarter shots look superb.

Sushisushi, You see a lot more 911s on the road than Caymans. As it says in the article they sell only 10% of the number of 911s.

10%??? That seems unlikely. I see them all the time. Maybe it's a North/South thing.

So you pay more than a boxter for something that is far uglier and doesn't come with the benefit of a convertible roof...

Yep, and a new golf is more expensive than a Ferrari 456. God, families make the stupidest purchasing decisions..

comparing new with 2nd hand - stupid

"a car you see everywhere" - stupid if you actually read the article whcih explains how rare they are

Porsche have done a fine job re-styling the Boxster and Cayman - the old Cayman was a fine car but a dogs dinner aesthetically, this one is ten times better and will probably sell better as a result.

Boxster still looks slightly better and is better value so would be my choice - Porsche still trying to justify the ridiculous coupe premium with a slight hp differential

possibly to do with where you are, The figures quoted are for last year so they could have sold more previous years.

Fabulous car.

As the 911 grows and it's price tag rises, will it slip into a middle-aged GT coupe?
Could the Cayman be let off the leash and become the proper sportscar of the range?

Questions, questions...

OK comparing new to old is unfair. But £48k for a base spec S? that's stupid.

I'm sure the PH Shop sells a "£30k for a Golf GTI!! Could have got a used BMW M5" T-shirt.

If it doesn't, it should hehe

My hairdresser claimed the same.

not a million miles from a "Z4 sDrive35is M Sport" (catchy name!) at £45.4k

TT RS is £46k, ok probably a bit quicker and more standard kit

Compare Z4 or TT roadster pricing with Boxster and its even closer - and I would expect to pay a premium for the Porsche badge

This looks promising, and I'm sure they'll be good reviews, but I can't help thinking - why would I buy this, and not a Boxster? In the Boxster, if you want you can drop the roof. I'd like to know what the Cayman will/can offer that the Boxster does not (beyond the obvious chassis rigidity comments).
Strange question, if someone had bought a Cayman it's because it's what they wanted obviously. Simples! Not everyone wants a convertible of course! I'd take the Cayman over the Boxster all day long.

Putting it that way, the boxter/cayman are proper performance bargains. Much more special pieces of metal in every single way!

Fake rear strut brace? What?!
