hmmm... me likey! BUT, bad colour for bodywork and wheels for press pics.. I'll take one in black with grey wheels, bit more stealthy and subtle (well, as subtle as it cold be!).. or dark met. blue.... paint the carbon bits in coloured lacquer so you can just see the weave through it......

No.

The AMG S-Class gives you the power of an AMG in a slightly more aggressive business suit. It's non-shouty power for those that want comfort but aren't ready to give up the excitement of driving.

This looks like an ex-Max Power cover car that is far too shouty for most people in this market. It is (IMO) way to over the top, too dated and too 'LOOK AT ME' for the fast limo market. Too 'tuner' not enough class.

I'm a little very disappointed...but that's just me smile
I wonder if this is a 'look at what we can do' exercise, to put it out there that such things can be done, but what you can walk in and buy will/could be a little more restrained?

They do need to change some perceptions for people to think of a Lexus in the AMG/Brabus/Alpina category.
Ditch the rear diffuser, swap the wheels for something less Halfords, and lose the Evo style bonnet vents and it would look great. It would be quite understated then, with just the side vents and arches to hint at it being a special model.

Seriously in your face, I like it. But also, like the majority have already stated, the rear needs to be slightly refined (IMO)

YES YES YES!!! 650BHP! NOW THAT IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!

Finally, Lexus are getting down to business. But... those wheels, those vents in the hood, the ridiculous tail pipe arrangement and the cheap boot lid spoiler, do it no justice.

I would buy one in standard guise, without all the shouty bits, if the said BHP is present. A truly magnificent saloon, barge and sports car.

Quite.

Now, if they truly follow the German model, the above will be a £10K delete option...

Dear Toyota / Lexus

Can I please have a large portion of what ever you having been given to your engineers? Because it is quite obviously good st if they have gone from a standard LS straight to... err... that!

Thanks

Megaflow.

Video from last year;

It's got quite a deep warble! Hard to believe something so big can actually get to 60mph quicker than the new XFR-S.

I think it's remarkable to have the standard LS being as dull as it is and then have that fire breathing monster, all in one range rather than having the same bmw/audi/merc with just different engines and oh-so-sporty carbon fibre finish inside.

I know which I'd prefer in my garage.

Big fan of the IS-F for its left field craziness and milled from billet build quality. Sorry Garlick but I think this looks amazing.

But are you in the market for a 90k hyper fast limo?( actually knowing lexus this will probably be more like 170k)

Looks are always subjective but I think the point is, will the people this appeals to be looking in the limo market?

Awesome. And as has been said, this is aimed squarely at rich middle-easterners, eastern European And Americans.

Johnny little Englander trying to be toad of toad hall while looking "discreet" is more interested in an AMG appearance package on the diesel version anyway.

It does look hideous and I'm surprised they can't come up with something that looks like the l fa. However knowing that you can buy this car at 10 years old with 150k on the clock and wouldn't bury you in 4 figure bills is surely an achievement in itself.

When I look at this magnificent piece of hyper-saloonery, I am definitely not inclined to think it is designed to whet the appetite of your average Germanophile.

Are you saying the Japanese shouldn't bother providing an alternative? Wouldn't the world be a boring place if your only choice of executive/performance saloon or limo was a BMW or a Mercedes? Some of us like the Japanese alternatives and are fed up of the snooty BMW driver, supremely arrogant in his choice to fritter away his money by owning an adequate but expensive car just because of the badge.
