This, and the muira and Daytona behind it, are possibly the three all time greats of their time.

I don't often say "ditto", but this was exactly what I was thinking when I saw those photos. Gotta laugh. smile

I'd like to have both in my garage in a few years!

OK, let's rephrase the question. Ever since Porsche started they raided the VW parts bin - applause.
Whenever Aston Martin do the same ( with Ford for example) - criticism.
I think that essentially the british have a love affair with foreign cars - green fields etc. Look at the vituperation that tended to greet Mclaren vis-a-vis Ferrari
Im not sure I entirely agree. The 911 is an iconic car amongst most of us because it has been around since before we were born and the basic shape hasn't changed. Anyone my age remembers the 930 turbo from his teenage years and earlier. Aston Martin hasn't got that sort of history, having chopped and changed over the years and now they really are doing the russian doll thing with the DBS/Db9 and new Vanquish. If you take the Lotus Elise, I think a lot of PH'ers feel the same sort of misty eyed romanticism for that car, which is british, because its unique and has been around in the same basic form now for 15 + years. Ditto the Caterham 7 which has been around a lot lot longer.

For me the 930/933 is THE car that defines the 80s for me.

Just love this car and its the car that started off my love of Porsches.

In Ruf CTR Yellowbird ford (I know it wasn't a turbo body) its sheer perfection in my eyes.

That shape had me hooked as a kid. I had the matchbox version plus airfix kit.

Had the 997 GT3, but still not as good looking as this car !

My dream car that I should probably never drive, so not to spoil things wink

Porsche have never raided the vw parts bin.

Vw and Porsche have been intrinsically linked since the very beginning. There is no shame in it at all.

Wonderful 911 pics smile

Short of a GT2, the best looking 911 turbo (to my preferences) is the 993.
