Oh, and an ice-cream van, and a ticket booking office for the travelling zoo.

no mention of load capacity? can't deny its tempting
If the PH search is working it's in one of the original threads somewhere 'cos I put it in wink

The measurements came out well with a level and square area. iirc it was bigger than Fiesta / Corsa / C2 / 207 (or whatever number it is now) / Punto etc.

Good points but:

Often type of work I did couldn't be done in a car - not allowed for legal and/or security reasons / specific client requirements.

In addition insuring a car as a proper courier vehicle is worse than insuring a van. Or at least was.

Dartford crossing I did once in 2 years and the client had that popped on the bill smile

As the Mini is a proper car derived van that would get car rate on the Severn crossings and get away with car speed limits smile
You could well have a good point about the insurance, I've never tried to insure an estate as a courier. smile On the whole though if the vehicle is gonna be insured normally & people are only going to be humping their own stuff about an estate is the way to go.. In my opinion.

Already got the brochure and an extended 48hr test drive booked for when the dealer demo car arrives.

This seems ideal to replace our five year old Astra Van - and something a bit funky to boot.

In the old days, a van fitted in with the Mini "Everyman" philosophy. Personally, I think a cheaper van will damage the fashion chic image they've tried so hard to cultivate.

And anyone else who drives one of the many thousands of small vans on the roads smile

With possibly solid residuals these could do very well. Could have got probably 95% of my courier jobs in one easily and had a much better drive than in the Nemo or Connect.
Although you're probably not a million miles away from being able to buy 2 Nemo's for the cost of the Mini
A new Nemo with air-con came in at around £8-9k plus VAT. I managed to buy an ex-demo for a fair chunk less smile Mind you the Nemo is awful on anything but billiard table smooth roads - willing to bet the Mini will be far better.
You can pick them up for £6k + vat new pretty easily. I've got a customer that pays not far north of £5k + vat for them. It's the reason I can't supply him with new Kangoo vans, I can't get near that price!

Quoted from linky:

The two-seater has a maximum 860 litres of load capacity, and a maximum payload capacity of 500kg. The cargo area stretches back 1150mm and at its narrowest point behind the rear doors is 1020mm wide.

Tape measure and go compaaaaaare! smile

Tbf, this is one of the more useful/practical of the MINI variants.

I quite like it. smile

Mini will diversify further soon, and start making skirts.
fking rubbish.
A mini van (original) was cheap and cheerful back in the day; IMHO this is neither - I'd do as a previous poster suggested and get a used Transporter / VW van or similar.
Oh and I own a Cooper S, and am getting bored and fed up with the increasing brand dilution.
With the exception of the Mini Countryman, I do not think the brand is being diluted. And even if it is - it is to increase sales for a British manufacturing company.

Price of the product is a separate issue. But if the cars are selling and the residuals are high then the consumer can win still.

Just a reminder of some of the brand dilution from the original Minis. (Why did they do this? To try to increase sales for a product which people liked....)

...fixed it for you ;-)

I wonder if they will offer a mattress as an option....

Someone should tell them there is no longer anything stylish about a BMini. "Saturation" is the term they need to look up.

I really like the appeal of these. I reckon a PH branded one would be a fantastic Sunday Service/BTaP/Le Mans/ASI/Track days/whatever PH branded events vehicle.
