The more you look at other exampleshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPyAkUun1Ns
the more you get the impression that the guys plasti dipping the OPs Subaru just did a poor job and it's not representative of the finish you can get.

Well spotted. http://www.somersetcarriagecompany.co.uk/used-cars...
I just came across it myself trawling Imprezas after Top Gear. Different wheels and plate though
Anyone know which PH member the car belonged too? It doesn't show in the topic while on mobile site.
I may be tempted to buy this car as its still up for sale.
Not sure the wrap will hang around for long mind!
Have a few questions I'd like to ask before deciding on the next move to take on it!
Cheers

Check out this video, be prepared to be impressed what you can do with plasticine. ( and don't fast forward and miss the handiwork )

Shame the OP did it in purple because 80% of posts on this are about the colour and not the process/product. Also its clear there's a real education issue with this, people thinking it won't come off, it can be done with cans perfectly well, it would be cheaper/the same cost to paint/wrap, etc. Having watched lots of those YT vids I can't help but think that this will be huge one day.
Did the same to my Scoob. Although Matte white.. not purple. Was a nightmare to keep clean (Worse than a normal white car, simply because it stained) and a stone perforated the plastic on the front bumper.
When I came to take it off, it certainly didn't come off in one big sheet like they show in the videos (although this may have been the "professional" Plastidip installers fault) and it took large amounts of my paint work with it. In the end it cost me the same to get it done/put it all right and still have dodgy paint than it would have done just to respray the damn thing.
Wouldn't touch it again with a barge pole.
