RE: New GT3 Cup car

Have to say regarding that rear end, it's teh first bum note (sorry) the GT3 stylists have made for a while IMHO. Really does look ungainly.
Had a quick look at the earlier poster's video links and I cannot fault the noise, which is wonderful, and these things certinaly look to handle nicely, but WTF is up with the rear end?

Looks lovely but 180k for a 911?! Bonkers.
I bet those that have them think of it as pocket change though and good luck to them, I bet it's absolutely great fun out on track.

These cost a lot of money.

Its a great looking car. I am sure it will be even more stunning in the flesh, like the current 991. I love how the current 991 rides so well, without the deafening tyre roar on motorways/dual carriageways.... really moved the marque on. I can see the new GT3 being a very usable every day car whether making getting that pint of milk a memorable experience or inspiring a spur of the moment jaunt to the channel tunnel and a week in the Pyrennees/Maritime Alps. When I had my 996 gt3 Mk1, I couldn't stop driving it, despite having a much more sensible daily drive, (over 60K memorable miles in 5 years). Hopefully, you'll be able to hear/feel the racing pedigree as of past GT3's, which is the main appeal. No exhaust sound tuning please!........ but my biggest concern will be the gearbox. I can understand the economies of scale for having just one PDK gearbox for the whole Porsche range, (as Ferrari have done). I am sure it will make the company even more profitable. I am also sure PDK is the way to go for quicker lap times, (though don't the race cars have sequential gear boxes?). If it comes with a conventional gearbox, I might just be tempted when the RS comes out, (though the £130/140K price (with options) might be a bit of a choker and a hard one to get by the wife!). Maybe the new 'auto' gearbox will be a game changer....who knows. CAN'T WAIT!!
