Yeah, I saw this advertised and I'm hoping for something decent. A gritty drama would be nice.

Will sit down tonight and have a look-see, fingers crossed its a good one!

Hmmm. After the excellent modern Whitechapel and Sherlock I'm not convinced this is doing anything for me yet. Nothing unique in this yet.

Is whitechapel getting s 4th season? I really enjoyed that, as well as Sherlock.

I quite enjoyed it, although I found the music was a bit too dramatic most of the time.

Loved the opening credits too, felt they were nice and punchy, but it built my impression of the whole show up a bit so I expected something a bit faster paced which it wasn't.

Will be watching the rest though to see where it goes and enjoy it none the less.

I gave it twenty minutes before switching it off - just didn't grab me and, thought the sound a tad crap too. frown

lol

I enjoyed it. I liked the dialogue; it wasn't too overtly higgledy piggledy, but to the ear it was clear that the writers had made an effort to achieve something deliberately different with the phrasing.

Carrying on with the joyous vilification of this painting by numbers Thick-torian melodrama, I was harmlessly listening to the radio when my ears were assaulted by a trailer for it... I have to paraphrase a little...

'Londoner caricature' speaking to the lead cop... "you can't tell us what to do in defence of our community"...

FFS, I've been on this site nearly 2 years and there are quite a few on here that would have trouble constructing that sentence with its correct parsing, let alone someone (preumably) born in the 1830s Victorian London where schooling finished at 9 years old.

This wonderfully inept and clumsy 'special' (how apt) is now entering the realms of being so bad, that it is its own parody and has the opportunity of becoming a cult, the cult of the shockingly bad.

I watched and enjoyed last nights episode. It is in my opnion different from anything else on at the moment(although I don't really watch much TV - and haven't done so for the last couple of years).
I think it may be a grower and really hope that it gets good ratings so that another series will get commissioned.

I like it!

However they could have at least tried to make look or sound a LITTLE less like the new Shelock Holms films!
