Apologies, I must admit to not doing any research. I automatically assumed that a large barge would have large boot. I think I got my point across though.
No worries! I thought they were big as well until I saw inside one. You can't fit a golf bag in without taking your driver out!Intending to explore this at some point in our tenure with the car; Renault have said they'll lend us a set of 19s so we'll get them fitted and report back.
Each to their own but I don't like the look of the 19s at all and they look very kerb hungry but I'll be interested to see how it compares.

I really like the 250/265. Have to say I can't take to black alloys or the design of the 18's though. If I had one it would need the 19's for me. Just wondering if the ride with 19's and cup suspension would be too much on UK roads? Anyone got any experience of that combination?
Just got in from a long day driving (500 miles, mix of motorway, A roads and a little on B roads) in my 265, cup chassis and 19"Have two slipped discs from a few years ago so a bit of a glass back.
I feel absolutely fine.
I have no problems with it at all as a daily driver.

Having owned both EP3 and (even harsher) FN2 civic type r's i'm curious about the ride of the cup + 19's. I just found it annoying avoiding every little bump/drain cover/hole in daily driving in the Honda's. I agree the 19's look kerb hungry, but I just don't think the 18's fill the arches very well.

Can anyone comment on the ride between the FN2 and Megane Cup? I had an FN2 on 18s and the ride was just about acceptable.deadmau5 said:

Sounds awesome !
I disagree. Sounds like a hair dryer.I snuck mine 'into the family fleet'
Yes it's selfish, I avoid using it with the kids, I don't take it into town if possible, I park it in far corners of car parks, my wife hates it, it's that good. I relish commuting in it, especially as I am often up at 3am or finishing after midnight
I've had Elise's and Caterhams in the past, this car is so much more capable and dare I say it practical

i found the 19's not as nice after driving both many times having worked at ren for some time untill recently, actross bumpy b roads 18's are far better so i went for the 18's better ride cheaper tyres and they dont bend like the 19's our demo had quite a few fooked wheels and that was the boss driving it im not really a fan of the 19's enough to have them over the 18's,there to fussy looking and there are no real aftermarket wheels that fit properly so ill just stick to the better ride for now
I drove the 250 Cup car round Oulton Park in 2010 at the Renaultsport trackday and was very impressed by how it drove.Definitely a drivers car. I've got a Ph1 172 Clio which has been a great car to own and stonking fun on a decent B road and on track. Renaultsport really know how to put a car together, although the new Megane's aren't built at Dieppe now, but in Seville.
A great write up on a fantastic car. I'd certainly buy one if I was in the market for another car.

glad your enjoying it, such a great car and love the way it upsets so many people that just cant take the fact its a renault and a big performer
You'd think people would get over it, they have been putting out cars like this for years. Admittedly some total dross with awful build quality but the sporty stuff has been on the money for years...decades in fact. 5 Turbo and GT Turbo, 21 Turbo & Quadra, Clio Williams, 172, 182, 197 (etc), R26 & R.... every single one a great car and a hoot to drive for the driver.Roma101 said:
Two comments on the article:
1. put it in Extreme, you big sissy
2. small boot!? Maybe compared to a 4x4 or a 7 series! I thought it was large and managed to fit in an amazing amount of stuff. Much bigger than a Clio boot.
