Oh dear, are Mercedes veering towards the Audi route of designing all there front ends similar.

I know its brand marketing but i prefer an individual design frown

It looks very similar to this dodgy render that was knocking about a couple of weeks ago.

Is that a parking dent in the o/s bumper?

Sorry, but one ugly car. Just looks like a Barry Boy poverty spec Merc to me...

Am I the only one that thinks the Mercedes badge in the grill which is now filled in with gloss black plastic on all new Mercs looks totally naff, cheap, aftermarket and just a bit rubbish?

The old gunsight was much better looking and great for lining up cyclists (kidding!!)

They design the most 'E-Class' looking E-Class since the W124, with nice straight lines and an elegant, proud face, but proceed to facelift it with the nose of a swoopy hatchback and think it is cohesive? Utterly dreadful facelift, akin to what Hyundai did to the original Coupe or Citroen did to the first C5.

Dont get me wrong I love big fast cars..

But it's another Merc with a massive engine, a million horse power and looks like every other Merc on the road.
Lets face it, 85% will be white with big black alloys and hard to tell if its a 2.0ltr diesel or a 5.5 V8 unless you look at the badges or hear it running.
I am surprised they've kept the big V8 considering BMW's current downsizing antics?

At first I thought I liked it - then I realised that all the versions do look pretty similar. Don't think the 'blade' makes it look that much different. I have a C250 Sport and would love a C63AMG but 28000 miles a year means prudence. Maybe the C350 next time.

Not one to say manufacturers copy each other and don't think it in the case but...
The new M4 concept, picture released last month ... Spooky!

Exactly what I said! I didn't think it was the case... I'm not one like some on PH who say this is a copy of that. New designs and facelifts don't get created and rolled out in a few weeks. I was merely pointing out it's spooky they arrived at some similar front end details.

If its solid black around the badge its a lense for the distronic - the photos are always specced up cars with it fitted, if its a non sport spec car with a bar grille and 3 pointed star it forms a blank gloss area between the grille bars.

Agreed, do Mercedes struggle with perspective and scale?
My first thought as well quickly followed by "Whoever did that needs more practice with Photoshop!"
