Is it me. Or will we soon be looking out of a 1" high slot window on the side of cars. I know crash regs have made the door skin/frame higher. But with chopping a bit of height there doesn't appear to be much glass left.
I've discussed this on here before. Steeply rising waistlines are a horrible styling blight on cars of the last few years, not to mention safety aspects from lack of vision to the sides and rear (but wait! We can offer you technology instead! Which then stops working out of warranty...) The Fiesta, Scirocco, GT86, i30/i40, Evoque, the new Clio, Megane (especially the coupe) - in fact a lot of recent cars from all across the board have gone for a high, rising waistline, leaving very little in the way of glass, especially at the rear of the car. I'd hate to be a passenger in a Scirocco or Evoque - imagine the kids squeezed in the back, unable to peer out the window. I have fond memories of trips as a child watching the world go by, this generation will be deprived of that (of course in this day and age they'll likely be too interested in playing with an tablet or phone). A side effect is a big swathe of metal making the rear wheel look tiny and lost. So they up the rim size to compensate...Back on topic - 6 series looks great, GC better, M6 GC - stunning! If it's as nice to sit in as a Panamera, it suddenly becomes my top 'in production' car. Not sure how the prices compare but I suspect the BMW won't look too pricy against a Panamera Turbo. Not that I will ever be able to afford one.

Back to today - 4 Series looks the tits. Want.

That M6 GC is the best looking 4 door coupe by a country mile IMO and the 4 series is lovely too! I just hope BMW find a way for the M3 lineage to continue!
I think they're currently proving that the vast majority of (non-PH) buyers don't care two hoots for the historical pedigree of M. I'm not sure what differentiates the Germans anymore. How do buyers make their choice now?Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
