RE: Shelby tweaks Focus ST
Discussion
I think it looks really cool to be honest and i'll bet it's great fun to drive at an affordable price.
Surprised at the negative comments by some folk on here, was like the Audi RS7 thread yesterday. Maybe a few of you would be happier if Ford, Audi and the like just dropped all their super saloons and hot hatches and just punt out tree hugging electric cars? Many of these "experts" on what is acceptable are the first to whine and cry when an article is posted up about more controlling proposals by the government or some charity wanting to ban everything and have us back in horses and carts!
Hats off to manufacturers who in today's political, climate change atmosphere can give everyone a choice and include a 600bhp saloon or a hot hatch which is easily tuned to 300bhp and over. Make the best of it guys, the choices we have at our disposal might not always be around.

Odd really. I can only assume the US spec is different as the UK ones come with nice nice Recaro's. At least the ST3 I drove a few days ago did...
It's very common for US spec cars to have vastly inferior seats to UK/Japanese models, with very minimal bolstering. The US spec DC2 Integra Type-R seats are absolute cack in comparison to the Recaros everywhere else got.
The ST I drove was a black estate with dark grey wheels (I could have done without the red calipers though - do them black too!) and I was impressed with its ability. Not as a set-the-world-on-fire performance hatch but thats not what I'm looking for. More a fast fun family car with lots of space for kids stuff, bikes and snowboards. It fits the bill nicely.
And I do love the DC2 Type-R. Not just the seats!
Oh, the decal is just glorious! The decal alone justifies a few thousand more.
Give it the horsepower, tune the suspension improve the brakes (not like any of those items were poor) and leave the exterior along--okay maybe a Shelby badge in the grill. Shelby doesn't get it. Maybe 3 mopes will pony up the $$$ for this mistake because it says "Shelby".

I normally only rate anything as a ten. Otherwise I don't rate it at all. But... accidentally... I entered 10. Then I realised I was expressing an opinion on an American tuned car. The nation who only know of straight lines. As a Britishist I say that in the most self-deprecating way. Irony.
What I really mean is... HOT HATCHES. 2 litre turbo cars. These cars were born in the UK in the 80s/ It took The Fast and the Furious to introduce the appeal of smaller engined cars to the wider market.
What a sad state of affairs.
We have been doing this for years.
So to see an American Co doing this to a car that is clearly unacceptable.
Even the leather isn't fitted properly. It is puckered all over the place. Poor fitting. Poor craftsmanship. And that is what it is all about, I suppose. Craftsmanship. That is why we created Aston Martins.
