YOU don't have to buy one, as if you would even be in the market for one anyway.
Go back to your pc and box of tissues looking at stuff you like.
I really like this, and I don't normally like drop tops......
Well, it seems people are voicing their opinion, it looks like a transformer and a step back from the last design, but the YES I am not going to buy one....."The exhausts are horrible" "Don't like the back end" " Disgusting interior" etc ad nauseam

The coupe is my new favourite car. I just love it, it's different, it's sharp and it moves the Corvette onto a higher plane.
Convertibles jsut aren't my thing. In many cases, they transform a good car into a skip. This C7 version is OK but as far as Corvette convertibles go, the C1 (never a coupe anyway), C2 and C5 were the best iterations. This doesn't miss but it's nothing like as sharp as the coupe.

Maybe these people are from some famous Italian styling company giving their 'unofficial' views. I quite like the back end, its like nothing else I've seen and actually has some nice lines. Of course seeing one in the flesh will ultimately overcome initial revulsion for some but not all. "The exhausts are horrible" "Don't like the back end" " Disgusting interior" etc ad nauseam

To be fair, if they produce a UKDM RHD version of the car, I very much will be in the market to buy one (albeit not brand new) and I think the exhausts look bloody stupid. Still, that wouldn't be enough to put me off buying one and as people have said, it's hardly the most difficult part in the world to change.

I'll get one, but to be honest I'll be gutted if they do a RHD one, they'd be everywhere, I like my vette's few and far between. Another 6 C6's to be seen around cheshire in the next month, bah! :PI quite like that, although I still think it looks too fussy - too many holes and scoops. How many of them are functional remains to be seen. Other than that, spot on!
I am biased however insomuch that I am rather fond of American metal. Sign me up for a C6 ZR1 with a 'proper' box than one of these ever encroaching semi-auto flappy paddle things. I enjoy the tactile sensation of changing up and down gears. A fair proportion of what makes driving enjoyable (at least on the open road) is lost with autos. Kudos to Chevrolet for sticking with a manual, albeit a 7 speed one.

I hope it's better than the 6 speeder in the old one which was a fairly agricultural affair in my C5 Z06.I am biased however insomuch that I am rather fond of American metal. Although I do wonder about how often you'll have to change gear with 7 ratios. Too much of a good thing and all that.

I don't understand this. Why would there being more of them make it a worse car; or indeed make any difference to a potential owner? kambites said:

Exclusivity. You buy Astons and Ferraris for their exclusivity - the Vette offers the same for far less and wnen LD, it tends to be even more exclusive and rare. Look at it this way, no-one is saying 911s aren't great cars but nobody bats an eyelid when they see one these days (twas not always thus either).LuS1fer said:

almost every other house where I live has a porsche, it does make them less special. In the states, corvettes are commonplace and blend in, it makes them less special, where as porsches are much rarer and its nice to see them.
Who wants to drive the same thing as everyone else? hands up....

But why does it matter if anyone bats an eyelid? Do people really buy these cars just to show off to random strangers? I'd buy one because it was a good car and the number of them on the road has no bearing on that.

It isn't but the car IS good and so this pizzaz is a huge bonus. Everyone likes to be individual or we'd all be driving dull BMWs and Audis...ah, I see your point. Fair enough if people do buy their cars predominantly to make a statement, but I didn't think that was really what Pistonheads was about.
Seriously though, the point is that the Vette is a left field choice. If they made RHD cars, there would be more and we wouldn't have any left field choices any more. Personally, with the likely VED rate, I'm not convinced they would become common, not least because imports will still be £230 a year to tax, not £900-odd.
Ultimately, it comes down to this - for the same money and, given their respective talents, would you want a common M3 when a Corvette is probably just as good AND looks like a Hollywood film star next to it.

the 'comedy' in exhausts is that a corsa doesn't need multiple big exhausts - the 'vette does.
I very much doubt it. Two exits would probably be just as good if not better for gas flow. Those things are 90% aesthetic. I'm still not convinced by the rear. There are a few good photoshops kicking around in the US of the car with 4 round lights and various less fussy rear ends.

C6 ZO6 used the cab chassis as the base, since it was stiffer without a suffering a huge wieght penalty. I think we can assume the same applies here.
Your wrong. The C6, the C6 convertible and later the C6 Grandsport all used a steel chassis. The Z06 and ZR1 used an aluminium and Magnessium chassis. All base C6 coupes have a lift out roof. The Z06 and ZR1 do not as the roof is there to provide rigidity to the car Edited by Gixer on Friday 18th January 23:33
Think I prefer this to the coupe. It looks like a 'vette where the new coupe has lost some of it's identity with the removal of the bubble hatch as well as the rear lights. But I still miss the classic 4 round tail lights. It's why the C6's 4 exhausts worked so well stylistically IMO.
