RE: Nismo reveals 344hp 370Z

For the price you can buy a 370z for now this http://www.gtmotorsports.com/product.php?productid...
Would make a fantastic package 500 bhp on standard internals at just 6psi
Not sure on fitting costs. Abbey motorsport do a lot of 350z tinkering so would be a good place to get a quote from..

From a totally standard car you wouldn't have much change from 12k....you would have a lovely quick motor car though.Would make a fantastic package 500 bhp on standard internals at just 6psi

15k on a second hand one, 12k on the GTM and all the supporting bits and bobs and for 27k you've got yourself something a bit different.
I think the styling of the NISMO seems to work better than the standard car and makes it look a bit slimmer and more streamlined.
I am in the market for (a standard) one of these or a Z4M, but remain unconvinced of the styling of the Big Zed.
It looks a bit contrived to me with odd angles everywhere, whilst the wheels seem to sit too far into the arches. Given its performance bias, I don't imagine its the sort of car you'd want to stick spacers on either.

hmmm, why would you opt for this when a Cayman R with 13k on the clock (and from an OPC so probably 6k over private) is going for sub £45k?!
Cayman R every day for me!
Because not everybody likes German stuff?Cayman R every day for me!
My own preference isn't about where the car is made it's about how the car drives and handles vs the price of its competitors.
My garage over the years has housed both Jap and German and i test cars from most other countries in the mean time!
I do like the aggro look of the Nismo 370Z.

But saying that, I actually do prefer the look of the Cayman R to this. I think the wheels on the 370 look wrong somehow, the spokes are too thin to work the Nismo kit. Great looking car though and it will sound awesome, that I have no doubt.
+1

FINALLY....properly chuffed about this. I currently own a nismo 350z and love it but didn't feel the regular 370z was quite special enough to upgrade to (and the GTR is just out of reach) I looked at importing these and they sell at a premium of £5k to the regular car abroad- so I would think similar here (+obligatory screw-the-uk-market extra charge). The importers quoted around a £15k total premium (a large chunk of that was tax) to import a used one....!
It is pretty in your face but looking at the online videos etc, its not too over the top and needs to stand out in some way, being a nismo version.
Quite frankly, in a world where our renaultsports are 5 doors and turbocharged, Nissan is doing something extremely right in the world of realistic, awesome to dive, affordable cars.

" 3.7-litre V6 "
Is this normally aspirated? Is the standard 370 3.7 litres, I thought it was 3.0?
Standard is 3.7 (350 is 3.5), both NA.Is this normally aspirated? Is the standard 370 3.7 litres, I thought it was 3.0?
The 280ZX, however, wasn't as simple.

16bhp. Pffft.
Got to admit, I thought the same. However, I don't think it's lacking as standard so if a thing is good, why turn down the option of more of it?Edited by xRIEx on Tuesday 22 January 20:54

i think you could have this kit fitted all in for about 8k +17k car25k. Decent GTR still 36k no where near as much fun as a 500bhp rear wheel drive 370z
Plus they sound a lot better than the drone'ee GT-R

Fair, but poorly worded on my part! It was typed in a hurry at work and makes sound like some kind of automotive xenophobic! My own preference isn't about where the car is made it's about how the car drives and handles vs the price of its competitors.

They were ugly when they were released, haven't aged very well and this one just looks a bit silly.
Always felt they looked like someone had drawn a 350Z but were pissed and kept sneezing at various points.
Shame really because the 350Z was a great looking thing and pretty popular too, still see a few around. Don't think I've ever seen a 370Z on the road.

The other option is to get yourself an HR model 350z for 10/11k and invest in a replica nismo V2 front bumper, some subtle side skirts, rear bumper and a wee rear spoiler...then spend a few quid on a decent miltek exhaust, berks high flow cats, cosworth panel filters an uprev, coilovers, pads and lines.Always felt they looked like someone had drawn a 350Z but were pissed and kept sneezing at various points.

Would look great (as long as your careful to get the styling balance right...to many owners get it all sorts of wrong!), sound great and go pretty well too....
