RE: Spotted: MVS Venturi 200
Discussion
I owned one for 18 months and enjoyed it very much , it was a bit twitchy over 120 mph but handled well.
David Eales of Oselli in Oxford has looked after a number of these cars over the years and is a good contact for anyone interested in the marque.
Word of warning though , someone smashed my passenger window and £600 & six weeks later I managed to find a replacement , parts are hard to find and are not cheap.

I have always loved the 400 GT. I appreciate it probably isn't very good compared to it's rivals but I think it looks amazing!
Well having owned a 400GT that had the 600LM kit on it and fully road legal I still regret selling it to buy an F40 that just didn't compare to drive. The F40 had the wow factor, the Venturi was in another league to drive.Chrisw26 said:
I miss mine terribly. Few people knew what it was. Trouble was even fewer knew how to work on it. Awesome performance and it felt faster than my Ferrari 456 which replaced it when the kids arrived. Alas it is now back in France where a company called Extreme Limite staffed by ex Venturi guys know what they're doing with them. If you can speak un peu French and want a car which will make you grin all day long, buy one...
Was this originally on an S plate? This was the pre-Peugeot engine i assume? I wonder if this was the same car!Dodgey_Rog said:

No it was an R plate supplied by Nick Mee the Aston man. I think it had the plate VGN 1 for some publicity shots presale. He tried hard to get these cars the recognition they deserved and there was a write up in Car where it came out well against the 911. My car (single turbo) was thought to be a unique colour - a Rolls Royce paint sort of metallic grey with a hint of copper, but my wife used to say it was brown. Turns out there was another one which went to the Far East. For those interested there is a Venturi marque history by Pierre daubrosse. The interiors are indeed very nice - the seats were great and the Mercedes sourced wiper was a hoot. There is a small but enthusiastic UK group who are very nice people real car guys.X5TUU said:

That's just not pleasant...whereas a 14k pretty rare ex super car wannabe is a steal and pretty highly desirable for the pricedigger the goat said:

Can't remember exactly, but think the one I looked at was around €40k (left hooker). Here's one up just shy of 25 grand that I googled...

My best friend's sister's fella had one of these, but an LM400 in full camouflage colour scheme! Was an absolute beast! He bought it off a chap who had alll his toys in camou colours - cars, boats, choppers etc... Think it was claimed to be faster than an F40!
I'm not sure on timeline but I owned that car for 6 months too. It was fully track prepared and has early Carbon brakes that needed a lap of Silverstone, foot on the brake, to get any heat into the brakes. It finished up in Black when I had it. It was very, very fast and easily out dragged a 996 Turbo.Very very loud!

Funnily enough I had a look at the OP car on PH classifieds just last night...
Always liked Venturis (and Alpine A310/GTA/A610).
The 400GT is a complete and utter meat-eater of a car. More gratuitous porn:
From that angle the 400 does look like a bit of a sticky back plastic F40, though.Always liked Venturis (and Alpine A310/GTA/A610).

That said, I would be prepared to forget that sentiment with good grace if they were giving them out for free...

A bit less cohesive than the F40? A tad more 'bolt on'? If so I agree, but both cars still make me dribble! That said, I would be prepared to forget that sentiment with good grace if they were giving them out for free...
