Fantastic car, there is something really appealing about a fast Volvo (T5R etc) and definitely space for Polestar in the market alongside M cars, AMGs and RSs but it needs to be a bit cheaper to make it work. This sounds and I would imagine goes like a tuned B5 RS4 and the manual gearbox really is the icing on the cake. Volvo please build this and make it £40k

I have a 2012 c63 Amg performance pack that cost 72k and i drove it in the snow today, from St. Albans to Cambridge and back. It was relaxing and swift. However, I certainly wouldn't specify it at as it is. I'd save nearly 6k and have a cheaper better AMG: as for 200k volvos, whatever next? £1m Lexus? A kidney for a skoda? Two testicles for an Vauxhall? This is utter, utter nonsense. (And I'm no unalloyed fan of my own car). You might as well compare Thrust2 to a Ferrari California. If they build it, I'll vote for MIlliband.

Hope Volvo build something similar (somewhere slightly above 400bhp I guess) undercutting the Germans for price, It would sell in small numbers, be a great Halo car and it's a looker too. Their current image needs this.
Chris - surely the cars still had traction issues when you initially went for it on that rolling start (500ish bhp, summer tyres on almost freezing/damp tarmac) so the 4wd Volvo still had the advantage early on?

Thing is Volvo don't need to make the 508hp model they just need to make it 250 or even 300hp and then let all the current tuning companies go wild. Exactly why we see an E85 running T6 engine pushing out 700+hp beating a 599 at 1400KG!
Look back at the T5's back in their day. Pissing on the established sierras and the like in stock form. Tune them and you have some of the lunicidal videos posted above.
No need for 508, otherwise people wont try it on. Let us spend 5-10k on top to make the AMG's the Audi RS's and the M badges shout WTF at their windscreens as the Prancing Moose hoons off into the distance.
